  2. or a road plainer and re plant the area with some nice hardwood trees !!!!!
  3. true !! also we would not of had as much overtime and we would not have got to see shane crash is new defender headon into another landrover in a puddle ha ha ha ha .
  4. i have tried the VT and did not get on with it , i prefer the Lock Jack by far , the thing i found with the lock jack is that ut takes a few days to get used to if propperly and having a quick play in a tree with one will not give you chance to try it out propperly and see just how it can make your climbing easyer and quicker however i have found it to be totally useless without an ART frictio saver
  5. loli think with the reduced hours of daylight and the fact that most of uss are working on into the dark i would put my day rate up as its more dangerous to work in the dark lmao
  6. i have a mazda b2500 , a ford ranger and a navara sport and tbh i would highly reccoment the navara , i use it when im not at work and not driving my scooby and find them to be good on fuel and it pulls like a train , as for the troubles with them i agree that unless they have had the bottom end conversion done then you are buying what could be a ticking time bomb to go wrong BUT to be honest most vehicles have good and bad points and some have problems like these but i would not be put off buying aother one
  7. HA HA HA HA no he had to drive to the outlaws for dinner and decided to have a look on the wonder that is arb talk !!!! i need to get back on here much much much much much more I must say a big big thank you to Dangerous Brian and Tommer9 for all the hard work they have put in over the last few days ! with out them i would have been stuffed it really goes to show who you can trust and rely on big thanks lads sadly i will not be on here for too long tonight as im now in need of some sleep as i have worked just short of 60 hours since friday morning . looking on the bright side i will be back at work tomorrow morning to take the the remains of a big old oak that snapped in half on friday night !!!
  8. funnily enough i was looking at nime last week and the same has happened , think i will give it the same treatment as you have done mate , but cheers for the heads up
  9. i currentky have roughly 3 tons of MP timber sat in my yard that i took down this week , its still green but its in sections roughly 20" diameter and betwene 1-3 foot long sections , me thinks i will be callingsome wood turners to see if they want it i never realised how heavy the timber was untill i had to take one down !!!! i think for the next one i will buy a set of long gaffs for my spikes lol
  10. nice pictures moza , i hope to have some more posted soon but currently my internet connection is fooked so im sat in mac D's having a coffe using there wifi
  11. after reading tims posts i would like to point out that the lowering device was fitted correctly and find it verry hard to see how the setting of the device can cause the straps to flex !!! we could have set the device in a "cut in" but this is also quite hard to do so because of the tensioners !!!! personally i think that the origional post made by tims stating that the device was not positioned properly is a load of crap, and can not se how anyone could come to that conclusion so easily !! any way the woody really did please us and as stated i highly recomend getting one . plese feel free to see how the lowering device was situated in the picture at the begining of the thread
  12. the wody did realy well Penfold , i will post some pictures next week , we took some a few but not many , as for the woody lowering device we were shock loading roughly half ton sections of timber onto it and to be honest i was suprised how well it did , the Woody only moved on the last section (but the section of timber was well over half a ton lol) it did not move to much really , it was nore a case of the straps flexing because of the load force so i think next time we will cut a chanel into the tree for the woody and maybe ease off on the shock loading lol . but i still highly reccomend that anyone who cant afford one of the more well known blocks gives a woody a try as we are really impressed with it
  13. im enjoying the job in the cemetery for sure , we finnished friday off by starting to take down a 70-80 foot monkey puzzel !!! not nice at all . i should have some pictures on here on monday , i wolud have put them on sooner but im currently in the middel of moving house and getting it in the neck right now because im on arb talk and not loading the cooker and washing machine into the truck lol !!!!!! any way i look forward to seeing some of your picks Mozza .
  14. give brandon hire a call in penzance , tell them i put you on to them and you will be able to get the parts there prety cheap , and if you need a fitter to do the work let me know and i can put you on to the guy that does nick berrymans tw150 , to be honest i would not take it to tavy because even if he is slightly cheaper the fuel you burn will cancel your saving out . any way give me a shout if you get stuck mate
  15. where can i get his number from ?? if i take him on i will only ever have to buy the odd ms170 , and keep his axe sharp for him lol , i could sell nearly all of my kit !!!! just a thought but i wonder what sort of idea he would come up with if he were asked to chip the tree as well ?????
  16. cheers for the prior warning Huck , i spoke to simon there and lets just say he was not at all helpfull and to be honest did not seem to interested in selling anything . thanks once again for the advice , i wont be talking to them again !!!
  17. great stuff i love watching Axe men it really makes me happy that im not a forrester , oh and hope the Malcum Lardy is in this series lmao
  18. whats the web address mate ??
  19. have you had any dealings with Atkinson Vos Mr Huck ? i was looking at a couple of his mogs on line the other night .
  20. DO NOT buy a carb , call husky , and ask to speak to tecknicle , tell them whats wrong and give them the sreial number of your saw , they will in turn tell you if you have one of the dodgy carbs , if you have got one of the carbs then husky wil normally replace them free of charge BUT you have to take the saw into your local dealer where they will order the carb from husky for free but you will have to pay for the fitting but this should only take them 45 mins topps, it is a wise idea geting it fitted by your local dealer as they normally will tune the saw for you and if the saw does go wrong you at least can give them the blame lol PM me if you have any troubkes tho .
  21. was it because his hinge was not parallel to his gob cut , the wife was pretty chilled tho
  22. brians saw did have a sticker on it that said CAUTION SHARP - i felt it was totally un true so duely removed it !!!
  23. sorry to hear the mate , and like bob said they are totall scum and with luck they will have a rally horable accident with the stump grinder that will affect them for the rest of their lives!!!
  24. Certainly not !!! how verry dare you:laugh1: its more a way of asking whether they do an XXXXXL with a steel core slding d and could i climb using the steel carabiners that any normall size bloke would use for lowering
  25. where is the sticker warning of its noise level lol , i have often wondered wether the companies that make these stickers would make one as a bit of a thieft deterrant it would read - caution risk of hard work that way half of the lazy thieving b****rds would not considder nicking something that could result in really work
