  1. where can i get his number from ?? if i take him on i will only ever have to buy the odd ms170 , and keep his axe sharp for him lol , i could sell nearly all of my kit !!!! just a thought but i wonder what sort of idea he would come up with if he were asked to chip the tree as well ?????
  2. cheers for the prior warning Huck , i spoke to simon there and lets just say he was not at all helpfull and to be honest did not seem to interested in selling anything . thanks once again for the advice , i wont be talking to them again !!!
  3. great stuff i love watching Axe men it really makes me happy that im not a forrester , oh and hope the Malcum Lardy is in this series lmao
  4. whats the web address mate ??
  5. have you had any dealings with Atkinson Vos Mr Huck ? i was looking at a couple of his mogs on line the other night .
  6. DO NOT buy a carb , call husky , and ask to speak to tecknicle , tell them whats wrong and give them the sreial number of your saw , they will in turn tell you if you have one of the dodgy carbs , if you have got one of the carbs then husky wil normally replace them free of charge BUT you have to take the saw into your local dealer where they will order the carb from husky for free but you will have to pay for the fitting but this should only take them 45 mins topps, it is a wise idea geting it fitted by your local dealer as they normally will tune the saw for you and if the saw does go wrong you at least can give them the blame lol PM me if you have any troubkes tho .
  7. was it because his hinge was not parallel to his gob cut , the wife was pretty chilled tho
  8. brians saw did have a sticker on it that said CAUTION SHARP - i felt it was totally un true so duely removed it !!!
  9. sorry to hear the mate , and like bob said they are totall scum and with luck they will have a rally horable accident with the stump grinder that will affect them for the rest of their lives!!!
  10. Certainly not !!! how verry dare you:laugh1: its more a way of asking whether they do an XXXXXL with a steel core slding d and could i climb using the steel carabiners that any normall size bloke would use for lowering
  11. where is the sticker warning of its noise level lol , i have often wondered wether the companies that make these stickers would make one as a bit of a thieft deterrant it would read - caution risk of hard work that way half of the lazy thieving b****rds would not considder nicking something that could result in really work
  12. so true , i was thinking something similar at work today , really there is no point in getting p***ed of about it , the more they do it the faster they will lose there business !! so really brian your helping your self
  13. verry nice job , i would have loved to have been involved it that job mate , great work tho mate !!!!
  14. you wont have any regrets at all mate , i have one and find it a really really good harness , thatgood that as soon as the new version is out i will be buying one
  15. i think brian would have a soft spot for him if he could do that lol
  16. ditto . also it has alot to do with your posture when cutting , how you handle the saw when your putting your cuts in and not rushing the cuts
  17. personally i have not changed my prices , if i had lowered my prices because of the credit crunch my customers would start to ask why i can afford to lower my prices and if im still making a living then surely i have been charging them to much all along , its just like the guy locally that offers O.A.P discounts , surely if he can work that cheaply for OAP's then he can work at the same rate for anyone elts ?? during the recession the danger of our job has not got lower and neither has the cost of the tools that we use , both stihl and husky have put their prices up by over 15% .
  18. lol do you get the tan as well ?? if so i think the crew cut would suit you just fine lol !!! that must be the guy the dangerous brian was on about in his thread regarding someone he was quoting aginst being majorly cheap , maybe thats how he can charge so little becaunse he only has to buy a pair of gloves every six months
  19. there are a few down here that have a reputation for being the cheapest down here but like i explain to customers - YOU GET WHT YOU PAY FOR when it comes to tree work , it may sound silly but if i did not work then i would still have a 6 inch chipper like the rest of therm but i dont i have a tw190 . this is only one example , all i know is once you get a name for being cheap you will find that the your client base will reflect this . the bloke the Brian was quoting against was at one point quite a large concern he has now lost alot of his staff but he is still having to quote so so cheaply just to keep his two man tem ticking over which to me spells out that things are not to rosey for him , but hey good luck if he wants to buy work then let him do it !!!
  20. some of the firms down here simply quote work that cheaply because they need to fill the diary , in the last 18 months i have seen 5 or 6 new firms set up and 4 of them are all fighting over the same work , personally if a firm wishes to work for free then good luck to them . as for the bigger firm having more kit , down here the big firms dont have any of the kit the anyone like MR Ed has , down here the "big" firms think they are going somewhere when they get more than one truck and chipper !!!! it really is totally different down here to any where elts i have ever worked in the country !!!!!
  21. did you know that cundurd it the cornish term for a drain lol acording to dangerous brian !!!!!!!!
  22. glad did that mate i would hate to lose the job:laugh1: i was thinking of asking tommer if he wanted to go in on it and earn 75 each
  23. even worse still , do not try using the small carry tool,s for suspending anything to big saw wise lol , a mate of mine in the london area did so a few weeks ago and the cary tool did not put up with the weight for too long before it dropped the saw , thankfully just missing a groundy but sadly killing the saw !!
  24. got my truck back today and after changing the fuel filter inside the injector pump , removing the origional watter trap and testing the fuel lines for dammage we were no further forward other than knowing that air was geting into the fule some how . so we took the rear body to find that the pipe on top of the sender unit had cracked , so a couple hours later the truck was being put back together and is working like new , it must have been losing power really slowly for quite some time . ut now its working like a treat !!!! thanks for al of the advice lads it really did help and the fitter was quite supprised that i knew a bit more about it then expected !!!
  25. normally the job would have ben a bit easyer but there is only the two of us at the moment but hey you just have to get on with it really lol , will post more pictures when i get if finnished guys ,
