  1. yeah sounds like a fair price to me .
  2. ha ha funny as fook
  3. i had a chap down here with a stump gringing and tree surgery firm get im in as a free lance climber to take down an awkward job , to cut a long storey shor i was lowering a section of timber down on his light lovering line which he insisted i use , as i cut through the section of timber he let it drop to much and the section of timber went strait through a fence pannel and i was expected to pay !! WTF?? so i had it out with him at lunch time and his reasoning was that his insurance did not cover me and it was my fault that he did it because i should have told him what to do as i had much more experience !!!!! and to be honest i could not not pay him as he was clearly not going to pay me for doing the job and providing a chipper
  4. just a non related question but what are the arb agencey and devon trees up to these days ??
  5. i wish i had known about arb forums back in 2005 when i went freelance !!!

  7. Mate we had some serious ice and cornwall stopped , well apart from some of us , imagine what snow could do to cornwall lol
  8. after my blaster a had a bansh , that was great fun untill i came off of it in a big way so i sold it and aint ridden since - that was when i was 18 but im really keen to get another quad now

  11. hmmm not good mate , i must admit i climbed an 85-90 foot pine with my lock jack and a soaking wet rope - lets just say it was interesting , well actually no it was not it was in fact not nice at all as it was all or noting with the lock jack lol (that was on that pine up at Paul cemeterry )

  15. i totally agree huck , i guess my problem was i could never say no to a job even the minging ones i think if a was freelance again i would do things totally differently but its been running my own busines thats tought me that
  16. where abouts are you working at the moment ??
  17. im really glad to hear the junior had a great day , im sure i will be exactly the same when i have kids .
  18. yeah i can imagine it must have been totally sole destroying but if lessons have been learnt from it then why not get up dust your self off and give it another go ?? im sure you will agree that it beats working freelace spending the greater portion of your time climbing minging trees that no one elts wants to do !!
  19. yeah i was pretty popular with the one man bands , they could then take work on that was way out of their leagu and simply get me in to do it with my kit . in the end i had been taken for a fool once to many times so decided to go out on my own and to be honest i think its the best move i have ever made , i have not been running my own company for about two and a half years and although there have been some serious bumps along the way i am loving it and the guys that work with me are spot on and totally trustworthy ,
  20. before running my own company i was a freelance climber but i was foolish and provided way too much kit - i carried every size saw i could need from an ms200t to a ms880 with 4 foot bar , a lowering kit , utility poles etc etc . i was takenb the piss out of but looking back at it i was a fool to provide all that kit for £100 a day
  21. thats more then not fair it bloody outrageous
  22. has anyone got one of the art phonoem friction savers ? well i think thats what its called lol they are roughly £260
  23. Nope probably means he is now going to take the wrap when anything goes wrong , work overtime for no pay and become the bosses whipping boy
  24. oh right , i was curious as i was chatting to a utilitty cutter from glendale and he was saying how they have all been bought petzel hats , he was saying thats its something to do with the hats now needing a 4 or 5 point harness system but to be honest it was the first i had heard of it
  25. i see what your saying , i will have to have a good look into setting it up i think !!
