  2. i have had a 55 plate transit for a while and to be honest i would stick with the old transits mate , like you said a couple grand more for cup holders does not really make sense . im also looking for another tipper but do not knows what to go for .
  3. yeah he sold it , i was guted i was out bid at the last min
  4. well said shrek , i stopped climbing for a bit as i was busy looking at work and surveying etc etc im now back climbing every day and at first i found it realy hard at first and like you said it was much harder holding your self in positons with your legs and quite often i found myself relying on more and more kit but now my fitness has nearly got back to what it was before im finding climbing much easyer again and all the gismos i have bought now make it even easyer . but still at 17 stone i thing weight loss is the next hurdle
  5. hmmm maybe the samson is another rope i will have to think about buying , i tend to climb either on a Lock Jack , distel or a swabish and im reallly not sure which rope to go for
  6. so true mate , and also no need for timber crane lol
  7. has anyone tried the Patron Access 11 or the Samson Gold rope ??
  8. i used to do nearly the same warm up but i found it hard to do and eat a full english breaky lmao
  9. how about the samson ropes ?? the arbor master is meant to be a great rope with zero thretch , i have not personally used it much at all but one of my climbers does and he seems to really really like it , i offered to buy him a tachyon up at the aa show and was supprised when he said that he would rather stick with his samon rope
  10. i thought fountains had just been bought out or have they just bought someone out ?? lol
  11. shame mate , have you give till hill a ring ? there rail contract is about to start again soon and im sure they will be looking to take more guys on
  12. i personally would go for my street works tickets which includes traffic management etc and maybe if your still looking for work then see which agency your local councils are using !!! if you were in cornwall i would see if you fancied a trial mate:biggrin:
  13. 500 4 fingured chin ups followed by 150 press ups ballencing on your toes and fingertips , 100 situps followed by a 3 mile run every day . then the missus wakes me up tells me the allarm has been going off for half hour so i get out of bed have a cup of coffe and bacon sandwhich and then its off to work lol . but in all honesty i really should get back to the gym !!!
  14. so did you get much work from it ?? i looked into it but down here there is not much call for it at all
  15. looks really impressive mate . cant wait untill someone does a version with a harvestor head on ha ha ha , only messing but i bet they make small woodland work alot easyer than trying to fit a forwarder in of having to catty timber to the end of the rack !!
  16. same oppinion mate , if your working for them and you hace the cscs ticket and they dont then it is pointles and if for anyreason your working on a site where it is required and your the only one with it you could end up having to take full responsibility . personally i think that we are tree surgeons and not part of the construction indutry what so ever , there are far better ways of getting work as a subby , what tickets do you have so far mate ?
  17. since when has Mercedes been producing an eco mog lol . on a serious note does the trailer have its own breaks ??? never the less it looks like a great idea and really usefull
  18. most of the cscs is irelivent to this industry mate , and to be honest if your working on sited that require it then i would guessthat you will have to update your H&S policies and your R/A's . personally i dont feel that it is worht the grief mate
  19. im sure you will get a job jay , the driving bit may hold you back but im sure if you are a good climber and willing to work hard without doing anything daft on your weeks trial you will be snapped up . im still looking for a college leaver to come and work for me but down in cornwall they are hard to come by !!!!!!
  20. whn you leave your flask at home and the customer decides that you are not worthy of a cut of tea all day long even though you are busting your balls taking a tree down at the bottom of a terraced garden with a hideous drag back to the top !!!!!
  21. i thing i would use Q.T.R.A for a situation like this , why not qtra assess it as it stands and then re assess it as if it were to have a cobra brace , the evaluate your findings and see if the tree could be retained ?? this is only an idea tho , i have been thinking about doing the QTRA course but dont think that many courses are ever held down this way !!!
  22. i used to work for a company called Celtic Rock , my job there was taking trees and other vegitation off of rock faces befort they drill, bolt and mesh the rock faces to stabalise them . personally i would recomend getting a geolicical / structural enginer in to have a look but it will not be cheep at all . good luck mate
  23. im using trust for all of my insurance , incuding P/L , E/L professional indemnity motor insurance and equipment insurance , i find them really good to deal with , i spoke to them when i bought my subaru impreza and they even managed to get that on my company fleet insurance . i now will not go anywhere elts !!!!! but as already said speak to cameron yeo
  24. i personally would brace the tree and give the tree a small weight reduction either by an overall reduction or by thinning , at least this way you have done everything you can to guard against failure . but i do agree that this is a tricky situation to be in .
  25. i personally would brace the tree and give the tree a small weight reduction either by an overall reduction or by thinning , at least this way you have done everything you can to guard against failure . but i do agree that this is a tricky situation to be in . i guess the other option woud be to fell the tree and re-plant!
