  1. If your not being paid for it your fine. If your employed it's a different ball game, soon as we've gone off on a tangent:sneaky2: I though that a chainsaw ticket was the only ticket that was required under a hse act which is law. Although under supervision you can be 'training' If an employed person had a no ticket and wasn't being trained then the employer would be in trouble? R
  2. Its probably as safe as anywhere a bit risky now, wouldn't rely on the firms secuiry/bodyguards tho, theres some exellent guys/firms doing it, but theres also a lot of firms working the circuit that'll take anybody with a service number...... If it was a bit later in the year id be tempted! R
  3. From what I gather its a tuning problem, a lot of people have had problems that have been solved once they've been back and had it tuned. Only used Dick Leigh a couple of times, but was very impressed with the way they looked at the whole saw being worked on. Maybe he runs them in and tunes them above and beyond most dealers? Will be watching with interest as I need to replace a stolen 200 :-( Rob
  4. Sounds like your sorted, if not drop me a line, i've got some that are a 10 I think. R
  5. I still believe all the information is there, yes some of it is hard to find but as drivers it is our responsibility to ensure that we know the rules of what we are doing, and if we don't to find out the answer. Not that I wouldn't try to use a grey area to get me out of jail................
  6. Different to the experience I had I'm afraid. Used a JCB and a transit full of blokes to get it back, and saw me nicked, but it was worth it!
  7. Well I enjoyed it; Navy Christmas video makes Mariah Carey's day - ABC News (Australian Broadcasting Corporation)
  8. Changed if for another one today and its all good, as soon as I took it off I tried it and it worked with leads, just tried it again and it's definitely the solenoid at fault so I'll get one ordered in so I've got a spare starter. Mind you it'll be in the wrong place when it goes..... Cheers for the feedback guys
  9. Sorry should have added dmf has been replaced with solid flywheel. New starter was fitted after it was replaced. R
  10. It's getting at it thats the problem there...... It's not that bigger job to take it off and do it as you say, but Its dark and cold and I don't want to do it if it doesn't produce the result..........
  11. The starter motors just packed up again on my 2001 ford transit (replaced 8 months ago). When I turn the key I get a click from the solenoid but no turning of the motor. If the headlights are on they don't dim at all. Am I right in thinking this means the solenoid is faulty rather than the motor? Got a mate popping round in a bit so I can give it a tap whilst he turns the key, and I can't really get at it to bypass the solenoid to see
  12. If you can wait till the weekend pm me your email address and I'll dig mine out for you. It's for ride one, pedestrians tho so you'll just have to remove the bits that arent relevant to you. Rob
  13. I can't believe they're not paying it. The vast majority of my work is grounds maintenance with ride on mowers and strimmers. It normally costs me 2 windows a year. Yes you can check the area for stones but you can't see all the little ones. We can't physically be far enough away from the windows to do the job but we do stop for pedestrian safety distance. But if I or one of the guys working for me breaks something, we fix it - simples. I'd be a nice letter, a LBA, the a small courts claim for the full amount plus time etc. R
  14. How'd you work that one 9 seats or above for D1? Rob
  15. I've got a van full in stonehouse if your interested? It's a mix of softwood and hardwood though, if you can pick it up you can have it. Rob
  16. Doesn't really help you but I had the same problem on a 1.5t gross trailer with 4 tyres specked at 375kg all up weighed 1.2T with gear in that kept blowing, I changed to mini car tyres (yes I know not quite legal) and didn;t have a problem again. Guess the tri axle trailer wouldn't work as it would increase the weight over 3.5T. I've recently used a big chipper that had a skeleton type trailer that didn't weigh a lot to keep it under the weight limit, wonder if it would be worth a little modification.......
  17. Do I dare ask why british waterways have a logsplitter............ I'm gona be cheeky, what kinda price did that lot get?
  18. I thought I recognised that butt, I got the pleasure of clearing it up on a boiling hot day
  19. If it can't be fixed with gaffa tap, cable ties and a hammer it can't be fixed!!!
  20. Was that tree where I think it is, access through a field??
  21. Yep whenever theres leaves on them, if you do it on a wet day its less of a problem. We always use ski goggles and dust masks if we do them in the summer. The bottom of the leaves are like a fibreglass type substance that makes you cough and cry if your not wearing goggles and masks, affects some more than others. R
  22. I reckon I could beat that Rob if you want me to have a look at it with you. Pretty busy at the moment tho so depends when they really want it doing....
