  1. No it's not b+e is sometimes refered to as BE. Catergory B is vehicle under 3.5t and you can have a trailer upto 750kg aswell
  2. Got an old 020 that isn't running right, starts and runs, but sometimes dies off as soon as the throttle is touched. Choke on and it will start, half choke and it runs etc. Was gona put a carb kit in myself but it appears that these people do the rebuild for the same price as I can get the bits STIHL MS200 / MS200T ZAMA CARBURETTOR REPAIR 020 / 020T CARB CARBURATEUR | eBay anybody used them? Also need a tank breather I think, looks a bit different to the one on the ms200 as that goes up to the carb, or am I missing a bit? Cheers R p.s Where do you use online for your stihl parts? Guy I used to use was brilliant but has gone rapidly downhill!
  3. Its a TAM T11 as used by forces from around the former Yugoslavia, or certainly similar!!
  4. Nice work, I haven't got the skills or patience to do anything like that R
  5. I'm sure theres a few more miles left in you both yet!! As for the combo, it was getting on and worse things happen like bending a crankshaft on a 57 ranger and destroying the engine and gearbox but thats another story!
  6. To be honest I'm lazy, I'll take the fuel pump, battery, cat and alternator off as they're newish but with scrap being as high as it is it'll just get weighed in. No trouble with DVLA then either R
  7. Well to report back as promised. I finally got round to looking at it this afternoon. It had been bugging me all day about the timing, especially after a further chat with the driver. First thing I did was take off the little inspection cover on the end of the cam, and the cam sprocket was wobbly. Obviously major mechanical so it's gona be going to the junkyard in the sky. If anyone wants any parts off a 54 combo give me a shout. Thanks again R
  8. I'll have another fettle in the morning to make sure it's properly broke, then I'll take it to a garage and see what they say! Thanks for the advice guys R
  9. I had a nasty feeling it might be............... Trouble is thats always pot luck, not had good experiences with garages recently!
  10. I hope so to!! It bothers me that it did run, although very rough before I took the pump off, and now it won't run at all, as I said though the two could be unrelated. I only see the van twice a year or so................
  11. Don't think it's head gasket, no oil in water or vice versa. I'm confused as to how this engine works, as the pump isn't timed, it's a common rail setup, from what I understand the pump in continuous on the cam and the injectors are electronically controlled? I was wondering if the timing chain could have skipped as now it won't go at all, even on tow starting.
  12. I wasn't driving it when it broke so can't be sure but it was described as whiteish...
  13. I always get good answers off here, so here's hoping:thumbup1: Got a vauxhall combo 1.3 diesel van 04 model that won't go. Symptons were a lot of smoke, rough running, and a fuel leak by the high pressure pump. I assumed it was the pump due to the fuel leak and changed it for a known good secondhand one. Van attempted to fire but wouldn't go, supposed to be self bleeding but i've cracked the injectors off anyway and got fuel coming through to them. Battery went flat after a while, which I charged. As a last resort tried tow starting it, but to no avail. Beginning to wonder if the fuel pump leak was actually seperate to the problem??? R
  14. I suppose at least they had the decency to tell you, rather than you just turning up and finding the work had been done..........
  15. Fair does, sounds like were singing from the same song sheet, and accordingly I do apologise. Good to see that people aren't trying to cover up/hide not knowing under the banner of an insurance issue. R
  16. I was impressed by your comments until you said not insured to cover, Id be very interested, and will in fact apologise if your insurance specifies that you cannot cover certain topics. Sorry it's a pet hate of mine with people hiding behind we're not insured for that. I agree with someone saying their not going to cover it because they are not sufficiently informed about it, but to say your not insured is imo nonsense R
  17. I'm cleared, do work for them in the midlands and north west. Not doing a lot for them at the mo though as the margins seem very cut throat. Welcome to try me for a price if you want. Rob
  18. John was a top bloke, and as others have said, thoughts with his family. Couldn't believe the news when I heard, only saw him the week before. He'll be missed by many. R
  19. Im doing it this year to, not done it before although I have done tough guy which was good apart from the silly run at the start!
  20. No need to die and come back, your in charge of your life, get out there and do fun stuff, yep nothing quite like that in the uk, but plenty of spots that you can do it!
  21. Also glad its not just me that has a little look when I get in, was far to drunk last night though..... P.S Is yours the truck and trailer that I saw driving through Kendal on thursday, looked a nice setup!
  22. Jet blocked in carb, strip down and clean or replace I would guess. R
  23. Wouldn't it be murder? Unless of course you're a rubbish shot:001_tt2:
