  1. How far off the M25 are FR Jones. I've got to visit a site somewhere near the that little ferry - sorry not very helpful - I'll remeber the name in the morning... in a couple of weeks and would be coming back up to Liverpool? Not sure if it would work out but can make sure I've got an empty van if it would help. R
  2. I'd only do it if you were planning to expand, just for one job I very much doubt it would be worthwhile doing. Bit like a chipper if your only using it once in a while its cheaper and less hassle to hire it. If your using it day in day out its silly not to own one. R
  3. Which works at your advantage when you submit the small claim court form, nobody knows who should deal with it in a lot of firms so they just pay up 9/10 times :-)
  4. £30 Quid as good will gesture. Then more if they make life difficult. It's time these agencies starting being accountable in the pocket, their the first to hit us if we mess up!
  5. Just out of interest can you put a mulching plug in that one, ifso you can try mulching and see how you get on with it!!
  6. I wouldn't recommend a mulching deck at all unless you are definitely going to keep on top of it. If you are then they're brilliant. If in any doubt get a side discharge that you fires the grass out, a decent zero turn will go round anywhere and if you cut it regularly the next day you can't see what you've cut. Countax are good if you nurse them and don't give them to much abuse. For a back garden they'll do you proud but for contracting forget it. The stiga for contracting was absolutely rubbish despite what I was promised, they're not bad machines for domestic use but don't get a timed deck whatever you do!! Think about how much money your going to spend carefully. For a back garden you might do better of getting a cheap b&Q one and replacing it every couple of years instead of spenging mega money on a top notch machine, then just as much servicing it! R
  7. As would do you know of a good hi viz jacket............
  8. I did it! You had to go out in Wolves the night before get completely bladdered, make a fool of yourself when you got back to the hotel (Ok this was optional....) Go for a little run round a muddy field, up and down a hill a couple of times, jump in a bit of water and climb over some rope and logs, being electrocuted every so often!! Actually it was awesome, my time was rubbish but I had a laugh and dragged a girl round that was hypothermic in the end! Check out Tough Guy or have a look on youtube it's hard to describe how good it actually was!!!
  9. Yer but lets hear the full story you failed it two weeks ago so you ought to pass second time:001_tt2:

    MEWP Hire

Try Power access in Tattenhall, not used them for a while as they can be pricey, but their stuff and service is top notch!
  11. Nope, it's 3.5t + whatever the vehicle can legally tow behind it if you've done the test. I'm amazed that 10+years on from the change people don't understand it. All the information is out there mainly on the dvla and dsa website, yes there are some areas that are a bit grey but if your driving a vehicle, YOU need to take responsibilty for knowing what you can and can't do. Ignorance is no defence. R
  12. Totally different doing it on a course in a controlled environment to using it in real life. Experience is the only thing that teaches you how far you can or can't go!!!
  13. Would you not do better off taking a bit longer and doing it yourself Rob, good experience and all that?? Havin said that Andy and his tracked chipper come at a good rate!! (presume you won't mind the plug andy)
  14. I don't really see the point in supplying the gear yourself tbh, unless your employing people..... I'd just specify that a groundsman or climber needed to bring their equipment along with them. Only thing that you might come unstuck on is a long rope. I recently grounded on a huge hungarian beech and the rope I took wasn't long enough, so we had to install it as a single line, which would still work fine. R
  15. Obviously didn't see the tree, but it looked like there was plenty of scope for felling in in a oner so didn't need climbing............
  16. It does explain why a lot of your times being spent in the container though:001_tt2:

Not had any problems from the mother recently but she is 160mile away..... The girlfriend on the other hand. Just how does saw dust get everywhere???
  18. This job isn't whitchurch way is it, been to look at a similar sounding job today......
  19. I didn't read it like that, more like send your cv in for me to have a look at and we'll see what happends. As for paying as little as possible, well we all like to do that it's how we make our profit!!!
  20. Yer probably best, alternatively I've got one you can have for £50 quid..........
  21. £49 an hour doesn't seem out the window to me if there good. If they can do it in half an hour which is all it would realistically take £25 sounds ok?? It's important to build up a good relationship with a local dealer. Unfortunately something that I don't have at the moment due to the majority of my work moving 200miles north..... R
  22. Not strictly true as the time that you've spent preparing for your case you can't be earning. I've had a few judgements against people and never had any problems adding extra on. R
