  1. Did a crane job about 2 months ago on contract lift, cost 2.5k for the day, was a pita as had another tree to do the weekend after, could have had them both done in a day but as on contract lift could only do one. I'm afraid they handled the lift plan, but it involved max weights at certain reaches, how stuff was to be stropped, where the saw man was to be, who could be where at certain points etc R
  2. Complete waste of time for that job, only any good for lifting turf that will be re-laid elsewhere. R
  3. Few reasons apparently, he didn't want to go into details so I didn't pry. New place is similar set up but they don't do any woodfuel as far as I could work out so charge more for chip and logs that foxhills. All based on weight with their weighbridge aswell. R
  4. I love the vermeer bc1000, only problem I can see with it is the chip quality isn't brilliant if your selling it. R
  5. Admittedly I've not seen that job but have done a lot of very similar ones on estates that we've taken on. Doesn't take that long to do edge down the curb edge with a spade vertically, then second mand shovels up. I would hope to do it in a long day but would price for two just in case. half a mile is nearer 800 metres so £2400 u'd be rich if you can get many jobs like that. R
  6. 2 men, 2 days £600 worse case scenario I'd say. R
  7. Just a quick not to let you know Foxhill Farm is no longer accepting green waste of any form. Theres a place just round the corner called: T&O Harrison Water Lane Farm Water Lane L35 1RD But their quite a bit more expensive (double). Got a job tomorrow Liverpool City centre, anybody got a tip site in for chip nearby? Cheers Rob
  8. I'm still with NFU they referred the unworkable clauses to the undewriter and they removed them, think it's the Bury st edmunds office I deal with. Was a bit of a PITA to sort but they have done it. R
  9. That would work to...... Just finding a scrap tractor at the right money
  10. V55/4 Good luck with it tho, it's a nightmare, you may find you can't actually do it or may need an SVA test, we looked at it for ride ons that had to move 100m up a road in the end we didn't bother.......... "A mate of mine" would just use the reg plate of "his" tractor......
  11. Nope but we do have a plan, well I do...... just sounded a bit iffy with hoping hiring it out will help with the payments. As I said good luck to him, sometimes the kit gets work, most decisions in business involve a gamble. R
  12. I think it's quite possible he's being very shrewd. If someone would take my rubbish for free I'd let them!! Worth a 15p ad on ebay any day of the week if someone is stupid enough to take it!! R
  13. :sneaky2:I might be wrong here but why would you buy something if you haven't got the work for it? Surely you have a business plan in place, which I would hope would have involved insurance. Good luck anyway:thumbup: R
  14. Better piccie of the speedboat just before a bit of fun on the mersey!
  15. Boats, heres a thread I can do:thumbup: Currently in the yard the 8m fishing boat, and the speedboat. On the canal the diddy little canal boat! R
  16. Gauze filter was the first thing I checked and that was fine, I've set the both high and low screws to 1 turn out. 10-12 quid sounds a lot better for the carb kit!, if its not that then I haven't lost much, haven't got the gear to vacuum or pressure test it. What does the impulse line do? I've looked at your on my bench thread and it has made me wonder if this problem is beyond me....... R
  17. Can you pop a price up, or pm me, for the carb kit including postage if you get chance in the morning. Thanks R
  18. I ought to look at mine I must admit I don't really have any idea! I'd say my fuel bill would be a lot higher percentage wise that yours tho!!
  19. Think if I remember rightly that there only 3.5t trucks though so payload would be rubbish. Not sure if I'm right about that tho.
  20. Thats one of the reasons I was thinking about putting a refurbed carb on it. Not sure how good they are though at that price.... What is the accelerator pump piston? R
  21. It's on 020t not sure about year. R
  22. I'm fairly confident I can tune the carb reasonable well, not aswell as you guys but good enough for me. I've checked the fuel hose, and the boots and all look ok to the naked eye. Carb kit is working out at 24quid which is why I was considering the rebuilt carb, based only on previous experiences of carb problems. It's an old saw that I'm keen to say I fixed, if it was one i needed daily It would be going into a dealer. I'm also going to replace the 200 I had nicked with a 201 but was hanging on a bit to see if the initial problems that were experienced by some were resolved... but thats another story R
  23. How much do you want to pay, thinking of selling mine...........
