    Socks

I was thinking about this the other day as recently I seem to be wearing socks out. I wear the same socks for everything. Really do need to get some work only ones. R
  2. So this money is fairly realistic, in that you might come in from a job you did 3 months ago, and have paid all expenses out. What would you buy if your accountant told you to spend before the next tax year started: £100, £1000, £5000, £10000 towards your business??
  3. Surely to get them in glasgow would be more hassle than taking them from home? If it's only a couple of nets have a rumage around up there and see what you can find in the woods/by the road!!!
  4. Cheers I'll measure the gate I've got to go through with it, Uttoxeter wouldn't be to far out the way to get it. Jobs just off J2 of the m5. Trying not to use HSS as all they do is source them in from elsewhere and put a percentage on top........ R
  5. I've got a landscaping job coming up in the midlands which I need to redo a lot of paving. I'm planning to use the existing slabs (crushed) as hardcore. I have hired mini crushers in the past through a mate. He can't get them anymore anybody know what I'm talking about and who would hire them, ideally to go through a standard gateway.......... R
  6. Root compaction..................
  7. Give me a bell mate and we might be able to sort something out. R
  8. That's because they're not interested in short term hires. Most people in the industry will be paying £60-70 a day for a 6inch chipper for the day R
  9. Have you got to hire the chipper to chip someone elses job? Or is it a job you're going to do/have done and want to work out how much you'll get charged for someone to come in and chip? R
  10. Possibly not true as he will be using the saw he needs for the job, in this instance he's probably not quite sure what the job will be. If he can stretch a 26 would be ideal. It can handle the smaller stuff and will do him if he starts doing bigger stuff. I love mine, although it does want a bit of TLC:blushing:
  11. I mean sell it to me for £15 quid and I'll fit my own pull cord!!!
  12. Nah just buy a roll of pullcord for £15 and it'll fit everything, which reminds me I need a new roll............
  13. I think its going to be a very complicated one, as I think some companies within connaught are actually still seperate to them but working under there banner. No doubt it will all come out in the wash. R
  14. I cut grass, rumour has it we will be paid though. R
  15. Nah they'd have received compensation for having to work in a messy environment from the householder!!!
  16. As Mesterh says you've got a lot to learn about how much brass scousers have:thumbup:
  17. I do believe that eventually if you spend enough money and come up with enough different ideas/schemes you can get planning permission for a lot of stuff if it's a small development. The problem is that it's simply not worth that expense and stress to do. R
  18. In two dogs fighting never had any issues there............
  19. Or someone doing a foreigner or a protected tree.............
  20. I'm sure your business model will tell you how much of a risk it is. If your concerned why not start of smaller with a lot less risk, using your existing van a trailer etc. I'd say the risk is the same at any time of the year, so when to start is irrelevant. R
  21. I've got a husky back back blower and I'm not that impressed with it to be honest. It's needed a new carb and now it's got another fuelling problem, having said that mine may have just been a friday afternoon job. On it's plus side it's better balanced than the stihl ones and quieter, but doesn't have quite the same power. If I was replacing it, it would be a stihl blower...... R
  22. It's my climbing line, I'm just a very slow climber so it's grown over it:001_tt2:
  23. Depends how much work you've got on. If your flat out everyday and can leave the sticks till another day then do 10 it's £28 per tree, and that could save you a days labour on each tree. If your quiet then it's worth your while ringing it up and doing 6 loads. Horses for courses and all that. R
  24. Thanks for the reply and quite possible yes then, there is a large limb (same size as rest of tree) coming off at an angle here, the bark looks like it goes all the way round, but it is cracking as though the limb is starting to come off. If it wasn't down for a removal I'd be getting somebody to survey it for me, but as it is and the anchor point won't be on that limb doesn't seem to be a major issue, but I was curious. R
