  1. Sorry to side track, is that a 25hp tractor, it seems to run the splitter well in your vid, how much can the loader lift. I've got a 20hp one and don't think it's anywhere near as powerful as yours? R
  2. That doesn't answer the original question though does it? I'd guess it would be something to do with the fact that they are an aid and that the exact forces couldn't be calculated or similar???
  3. I've got a mate that owns a phoneshop, sure he charges about £75 to change a screen on one. He's told me not to get one as it's far easier changing screens for me on a nokia......... I'd have thought it would be worthwhile trying one of the smaller independents. I'd recommend my mate but he's a bit far away for you. R ps As for the original query, try drying it out for a couple of days and try a different battery, sometimes it's only that that goes.
  4. The only time i've ever thought 5 mill might no have been enough was dismantling some pops above a classic car restorers with an asbestos roof. He was telling me this cars worth this and so on........ It was a climber I'd never used before aswell but they came well reccomended and didn't break anything! R
  5. Yep I've got a friendly double glazing man that is normally there within 4 hours with a nice shiny piece of glass. But that's only if I'm local otherwise I have to rely on a local person not to sting me to badly. I do agree with what your saying but in that instance what would happen in real life is that the lanscaper would explain that I'd broken the window and would sort it to his client. I'd then ring up my insurance company and they'd instruct what was going to happen next, id inform the person who's window it was. I know technically that isn't correct, and I've never had to make a claim so who knows. I'm insured upto the hilt, I just hope it works if I do ever make a claim!!! R
  6. I think it can be very grey - not saying your wrong but a couple of the points would definietely be open to discussion. Particularly the hourly rate. I sub to a landscaper with my chipper on an hourly rate as he hasn't got one. We also do some grass cutting/maintenance for private clients where they pay for an hour so if the grass is short they get more weeding etc done than if it's grown 6inches, rather than pricing for the job. R
  7. When my renewal came through it had a 10m height restriction on it. I rang them up and they said it didn't apply to my policy and it was just standard t+c's they's sent me out??? Accordingly I asked them to confirm in writing that there was no height restriction which they did no probs at all. No complaints about them from me, but as you've said it depends what happens when you have to make a claim, which I hope I never have to. R
  8. No problem with that at all, I was just reading the thread and thought I was going mad until I realised - I definietly am.................... I don't know whether it would be easy to do but some sites have a swear filter on them, would this make your lives easier?
  9. There's been more and more claims, more people claim for personal injury and unecessarily high hire costs so everybody suffers. R
  10. I agree with Rupe, I don't see why your not covered by the estates insurance. A lot of people do this to avoid having employees.......... I'm not sure that 32 would give you anymore clout if you are using a bigger bar anyway, no where on 32 do you have to use a bigger bar. As the position stands with you being self employed I'd have thought for a 3rd party claim using a 20inch bar using basic felling techniques you'd probably be ok. Whenever I'm unsure I get a bit of advice like here, then ring the insurance company up. Explain my thoughts on it and see if they agree, then I get them to email me confirmation over. Rob
  11. Somebodies deleted a post which means mine doesn't make sense anymore:sneaky2:
  12. I'd recommend gnarlyoak (Rick) off here, he's over your way. He's got an add somewhere on here. If you need his number pm me. R
  13. He's done it in preperation for a race he's going to organise in a year or so's time. I think I'll be busy that 6months.............
  14. Might be of interest to some of you, might not, a mate of mine has just done a little bike ride round the world: Express.co.uk - Home of the Daily and Sunday Express | UK News :: Cyclist sets new record for pedalling round the world I reckon I'm still faster than him downhill though - Fat blokes roll faster!!!
  15. From reading stuff on here it seems that it's not the youth of today causing trouble anymore its the coffin dodgers!!!!
  16. Looks like your going to have to start stocking size 16 boots......................
  17. Can I have a go:drool:can't be that hard can it:cursing:,
  18. Surely if you've got the time for all that you've got a bit of time to get some quicker drying wood split and stacked now?? R
  19. Has it been pollarded and how long ago?
  20. Doesn't sound like a rip off to me sounds like it's keeping somebody of the roads that doesn't meet prescribed standards........ Or maybe he's unlucky. IMO we ought to be retested or made to do an update or something similar every five years or so. Driver training is never wasted IMO. R
  21. Might teach the developers not to do stuff without proper planning in place tho:thumbup:
  22. I'd be up for it, be good to put a few faces to names. R
  23. Fraid not it will only allow you to drive anything rigid, the 750kg rule will still apply to trailers. R
