  1. Army surplus shops do new and used army bags, hold-alls and rucksack types (bergens) that are more than big enough and very tough. Got mine for £12, has shoulder straps that pack away until you need to lug it a mile through the woods!
  2. I'll buy them today for £50. PM me!
  3. She wasn't being nice, she tried to get a free car wash out of them! Nothing Shane said was harsh - she didn't use the eyes or brain in her head, parked the first place she saw a gap and then tried to blag them.
  4. The plastic coated wire from the cam to the body has no functioning purpose other than to keep the parts together when you take the bolt out to fit your rope (I think). The wire on mine frayed months ago and started to scratch my arm, so I cut the bugger off. Still works.
  5. Zip tie, string, electrical tape, tool crab.......
  6. Hi all, I have a problem. Going on holiday to Skye this weekend and I need logs for the burner in the cottage. I don't want to haul a load 600miles and hate the thought of paying full whack when I know I've got tonnes at home. Can anyone near the area help me out for a couple of bottles of wine? I only reckon I need a couple of those green recycling bags full for the week at most. I'm driving up and will be coming past Glasgow and heading on up at around 12 midday Saturday (ish). As a token of my appreciation I include this pic for your enjoyment:
  7. Don't be such a pussy, just make sure you're climbing next time it rains. Job done.
  8. Forget the sawpod and keep it on your harness. The position of the sawpod on your leg means that more often than not your rope will hook itself between your leg and your silky handle and stay there. Don't tie your saw on through the hole in the handle as the length of cord you would need to reach out with your saw means you'll have a hanging, tangling mess of cord when it's stowed in it's sheath. Tape the clip with electrical tape to stop it popping out. Wrap electrical tape around the blade end of the handle where it fits into the sheath to make it fit snugly when stowed. It doesn't have to be tight, just snug. I have a gomtaro and 3-4 wraps does fine.
  9. To stop the saw falling out when upside down, tie a short piece of string to connect the handle to the scabbard strap which would normally fit onto your harness. Then it stays in all the time, and all you have to do is simply unclip out of the scabbard.
