  1. Gang probed by a bunch of bored aliens?
  2. That goes without saying:laugh1: No offense but I think the 3 minute reset doesn't work as I would have had to do the initial setup loads of times. I just use the saws clean them maybe once a week and that's it. No drama trying to start them, no complaints with power or running. My advice is if it doesn't run and start properly take it into your dealer, if they can't sort it take it to Husqvarna. You don't need to mess about, they just work! If not then your doing something wrong or the saw is a dodgy one.
  3. Oops that came out different than what meant to say so sorry about that. It wouldn't just be a hassle it would be a load of shite if you had to use the saws as you explained. Idling doesn't cause the saw problems, my t540 is always ticking over as do probably most top handle saws and the air filter doesn't need a daily clean. What info do you have that the saw resets itself if it's ticking over for more than 3 minutes as that would constantly cause problems .
  4. What a load of shite more like
  5. Being a professional tree surgeon I suggest next time you prune back your trees so you don't piss your neighbours off. Just a thought. Especially when it's been brought up previously
  6. You should keep changing them until they turn into a pair of distel geckos. As for the gaffs, it's easy to cock them up, just sharpen a few times and when you've destroyed then buy a new set of gaffs.
  7. All they need to do is put the price up, we will all still buy the same amounts of milk from the same shop every week. Ive done a bit of research into this so I know the facts. ahem There has never ever been a conversation in the history of conversations (and this dates back to ancient times well over 100 years ago when caveman had to milk dinosaurs!) that contained the words " So where do you do your shopping then? .... I go to XX supermarket because the milk is cheap" Never happened and according to scientist boffins it never will, so Mr asda and Mr tesco stop feeding us full of """" that we need cheap milk and bread or we wont walk into your shop. The day I have to worry about the price of milk is the day I realise I am a lazy git and should get off my arse and do a bit of work.
  8. Fines for dumping the milk! From what I can see then any subsidies are basically going from the government to the supermarkets. It looks like the the farmers are over a barrel, they have no choice but to produce a product that they have to give away. Christ it's milk, I have no idea how much it costs I just buy it when I need it. I wouldn't know or care if the price went up and I guess most of consumers would think the same.
  9. Excuse my ignorance but I just don't have a clue how any of this works! It costs a farmer say £1 to produce x amount of milk supermarkets pay him 80p, they sell it for£1.20 but say it is a loss leader! Are the farmers tied into selling it to the supermarkets at a loss? If so why can't they all get out and start again. Surely a few days stopping milk production might do the trick.
  10. Ddrt only here, should really, really have a go at srt. Come on, is there only 30 odd climbers on AT!
  11. Exactly what I was thinking reading this thread. She probably does more for the less well off than most of the arbtalk members put together In the words of the famous Mike Smash " I do a lodda good work for charidy,I just dont like to talk about it mate" They should have just closed the road off completely for a week to give the spiteful miserable sods something to really whinge about.
  12. 100% yes imo. That's a good bit of Modern art that is. Naturally shaped trees are two a penny and overrated anyway.
  13. They wouldn't have the intelligence to understand.
  14. People who cant stand sarcasm shouldn't really leave the house.
  15. If it's a private job with a lot of jobbies and they don't clean up they bye bye. Commercial is usually different i.e.it's not worth losing a contract over so get the shovel out making sure you remove the turf as well as the turd.
  16. I suppose it shows the simplicity of our job and the reason why everyone thinks they can be a tree cutter. Plus if there is something we need in this industry it's more tree cutters:thumbup1: It won't be long before they do this in the UK.
  17. Listen to Mark, if anyone knows how to stop swearing on a forum it's him. Use to keep the moderators on their toes!
  18. I think it's really immoral of them when they increase prices drastically , change the odds our bring out a new game etc. They know a lot of people use the same numbers every week so they are trapped and 'have' to pay. I'm glad I have only ever used lucky dips.
  19. Plus it makes employing someone less desirable, no doubt there will be more people working on zero hour contracts, having to go self employed or working for an agency etc No good for employers or employees imo. Best thing to do is have your own private pension or just spend your money have fun and hope you die before your broke!
  20. As Kevin says I would question that they haven't made a mistake somewhere on the spec.it sounds like reducing to 6.1m wouldn't leave much, if any crown spread. You just might stop a bit of a cock up.

    Tree Pruning

This deserves an award for the most useless spam thread ever! Well done.
  22. Does anyone know if it's only in our industry that certs aren't a legal requirement in regards to other industries like ropes access, etc?
  23. Have you checked the sprocket at the end of the bar isn't knackered?
  24. True although there are plenty of bodies who do look after the non pro and do enforce laws, ie seat belts, crash helmets etc.Although when it comes to diy, anything goes.
  25. It's pointless and your Pissing against the wind. Mr homeowner has a plethora of gadgets he can kill or maim himself with, a chainsaw is probably quite low on that list, ladders being nearest the top. Mr hse has neither the time or resources to try and enforce such a law, hence why there is a huge gap in hse recommendations for professionals v homeowners.
