1. Its all a bit silly though. No TO is going to want to save those trees so why not just tell you to get em down. 1 photo should be more than enough evidence IMO.(I know it wont though) Plus why should you have to submit a report at extra cost to the client never mind having to wait another 6 or so weeks.
2. Dunno if this is the right thread to post on but any ideas on what the average cost is to become an AAAC? Thought it relevant since that seems to be the biggest factor in not getting AAAC (it is mine too)
3. First time ive seen that done!
4. I was wondering about that the strwech airs look heavy (I havent tried them though) Got sip ultra fit atm:thumbdown: and some hi-flex that have fell to bits looking for some A's for the summer though so might look at the stretch airs if there not to hot in.
5. I'll second that:thumbup1: IIRC() there is a big difference between how big companies(over 5 employees) have to operate by law compared to small 2-3 man bands(I guess the majority of us on here) I would therefore expect the AA to differentiate between the small and large in there pricing, assessment and reassessment strategies or something more appropriate in what you do ie strategies is probably the completely wrong word but hopefully you understand what I mean:confused1: This I think would help the smaller companies get AAAC approval and keep a bit of a tighter check on the larger companies, improving the industry for all camps.
6. You need to find out if its electrical or mechanical. If it has electrics try disconnecting the dump solenoid. This is what the anti stress or safety bar kicks in if it has any.
7. Thats all he would have to change if it siezed. I'd just use it tbh and if it does sieze/pick up you know why.
8. Is it a turbo?
9. Can you turn the engine over easily by hand? ie is there any compression in it.
10. Ohh very lucky!! Did they have a pulling rope on it or did it have a very lob sided crown? Fixed it for you.
11. Tbh I dont think I have ever seen a syc killed off from pollarding! Although yours could be the first:001_tongue: I'd do it:thumbup1:

iphone apps

Not one person interested in a spy/tree crown inspection device powered by there phone with real time vid? Wasted it is, wasted.
13. Oh yeah I remember too:laugh1:
14. Hopefully someone will come up with a more accurate answer than mine but iirc from an old thread around the 300-350kg per cubic metre sounds about right.
15. Hopefully none of us will ever find out! I did start a thread yonks ago hoping some insures would give us a definitive answer on if they would pay out if we didnt have this ticket or that ticket etc.. Surprisingly not one decided to help out, wonder why:sneaky2:

My LDV!!

Nice arb truck:thumbup1: Havent read the whole thread but any idea on what volume it takes?
17. He he looks like:001_smile: It was just a random image I grabbed from google. Well as random as 'can of worms' brings up anyway Ladders are a good plan for rescuing and tbh we carry them with us most of the time anyway, although there not that big, 8 metres at a guess.
18. Just had a look at the vid and you know what for £200 it doesnt look bad:laugh1: Now we know how all those bad pruning cuts happen on the street trees:sneaky2: Looks like it can do the job, OK it prob wont last as long and I doubt it could be thrown about alot but a couple of jobs would more or less see it paid off.
19. No worries about any delays in replying I think we all appreciate the fact that you do reply and provide info:thumbup1: Your right I should have said practice since thats what I meant and not training tbh:blushing: I just see it that a 'groundie' with an ariel ticket would need an awful lot of regular practice to be effective in a emergency situation. I wouldnt like to rely on me rescuing me tbh, if you understand. Maybe we should all have a MEWP on site standing by just in case:001_tongue:
20. Thats terrible news:thumbdown: I bet not one of them took a photo of you. Best to look on the brightside................Coulda been worse, coulda been me! Only JK, doesnt sound like a good day at all. Especially having to mess about with methane an all.
21. There was one somewhere and iirc the outcome was if an LA specified that AA approval was required to tender then you can get it turned around and give them a slapping at the very least:001_smile:
22. Thats fine. As long as the rest of us are going quicker than the artic's then not a prob, its when someone is doing 55 and there is a q of artics trying to over take:thumbdown:
23. Gotta be a reasonable price imo. I only turn up with a truck, chipper and some saws but charge £75 an hour!!
24. I've done both(had to for the contract we were working on at time) but they failed to put it on my NPTC card so dont know where I stand tbh. Not that anyone has ever asked me to show it to then and that was 10 years ago.
25. Anyone doing less than 56 on a motorway in a vehicle that can go faster needs a right good slapping:sneaky2:
