    Xmas TV ads

The adverts are the only thing worth watching ATM! I think Christmas is great, the longer it lasts the better in my book.
  2. This:thumbup1:
  3. Inside it's fairly dry and warm. Outside it isn't. Hopefully that helps someone.
  4. Its up there but I remember someone putting a thread up about some really shite tv program it was the modern version of fame o some crap along those lines, that was embarrassing. How did you get stuck on wet leaves in a truck?! I know most uk 3.5 ton trucks are shite off road but wet leaves!! You deserve a medal of some sorts. Obviously the wrong type of leaves you had there.
  5. Thats a very nice, calm looking picture:thumbup1: Disappointed there was no David Brent though:confused1:
  6. You answered a question with the exact same question:001_huh: I know they have no market share!! Im asking why. Thanks Shavey, still though, if it is a great product it should have some market. Im not knocking the brand at all, just interested in other brands of chainsaw.
  7. No offense but that doesn't help.
  8. If dolmars are so good why aren't there many/any suppliers in the UK? Genuine question. I mean they have been around for donkeys years but you just don't see anyone selling or using them.
  9. I know,I was only joking everyone knows tracked chippers weren't invented until the Roman times. Whenever I have used a tracked chipper it's been in a place that you would struggle to get other machinery in hence I would be looking for someone to come out and shift it by hopefully getting the machine driving again. Lots of things are fairly easy in theory.
  10. I'm fairly sure that when the ancient Egyptians had a tracked machine go down they phoned a hydraulic specialist to bring a portable hydraulic pack to site. Seen it on a documentary. Got to be worth speaking to a local hydraulic firm if you run those machines just in case.
  11. A lot longer than 10 hours, presuming it is as genuine stihl bar. As already started possibly incorrect chain tension or oiling issues. You say 2 tanks of oil to 1 of fuel. Do you fill the oil up every time you fill the fuel up? Could also be that the bar has been pinched causing a hot spot.
  12. Cheer up you grumpy sods, it is quite funny.
  13. Some proper pub advice going on here. Good to see my ppe will last until the end of time if I get it indpected every 6months. In short the manufacture gives details on its life span, and a competent person should check every 6 months to see it's still serviceable. In reality, it will be trashed well before 5 years at the best, you will only get your kit inspected when a good commercial contract is waiting for a signature and unless you have been mooring the QE2 most of your ppe will still be around long after a big fall than you will be. Unless you have an issue with the main attachment point on your harness which imo is the thing that should be checked the most.
  14. I am the one who ends up with stab wounds because I can't load the dishwasher properly. The Mrs is usually holding the handle of said knife at the time. To the op, have you tried telling him he is a big fat grunting pig? Worth a shot. Had my fair share of annoying workmates over the years, usually people who don't do an awful lot but can't keep there mouth shut. No doubt I piss then off at times so it's all fair game.
  15. I can see that now. Copper driving away with a smug grin on his face after fining them and making them tie it down properly. That will learn them.
  16. So someone just randomly turned up, did a random bit of work, charged her £50 and she paid? I stand by my bonkers observation tbh. Seriously, £50 as a minimum fee is fair enough as already mentioned, but yes, it sounds like a poor job.
  17. I would charge well more than£50 if I had to use a bow saw. Old people are bonkers, he probably did it for free.
  18. Not every garage is a bodger. Just like in this business you need to choose a reputable company. I bet the there are loads of people who buy a set of spanners and call them selves a mechanic. Probably a spannertalk forum where everyones is moaning that the industry is going to the dogs because of all the new start ups doing cheap crap jobs and giving it a bad name. Unlucky to the op, I hope you get it sorted quickly and don't forget to shop about so you know where to take it to next time.
  19. I'm not sure what world some people live in but it sure isn't the real one. Yes everyone should work, live within their means and only buy a dog or have children when they can support them but, you do realise that in real life things can change very quickly? A partner can up and leave, become ill or injured (not enough to claim disability although that isn't much of a savior) or just die. What happens to the rest of the family then, should they just work that bit harder? What about all the jobs out there that will only ever pay minimum wage and may not allow even a 30-40 hour week. Whoever does those won't ever have much money. There's nothing wrong with being able to earn yourself a good few million pounds a year if you can but why must people at the other end of the spectrum be content with very little and work themselves into the ground for it.
  20. If that's true then I need to seriously reconsider using the fat bloke down the pub as my sole source of all information on everything!
  21. Sounds like it could be worth using a quality pattern part. Also use some gasket sealer on any paper gaskets too? Or, just do away with the fluids 100% guarantee not too leak then.
  22. That sounds good to me. It could be that they are saying steel attachment on rope grab to aluminium carabiner rather than just metal to metal? Otherwise how would a steel chain be acceptable?
  23. I understand where your coming from but I am guilty of doing too much cut and chuck when a quick but of rigging would have been quicker and easier. Do you not also think that because of the way your team worked it used to work of being a groundie with no saw you may have over the years got so used to cut and chuck that you can't see the benefits of rigging? Ie your a dinosaur mate, get with the 20th century at least. Maybe a rigging refresher course as I know you love getting all those licences Snatching on a pole is something I have rarely done over the years, that does seem to take too much time for to little gain.
  24. If your main concern is getting 5 days a week then contrary to internet belief in reality it will take you a long long time to achieve that. Although that all hinges on what you expect to earn in a day.
  25. The breaking strain is also reduced if ncr with a double braid rope. Although I hardly ever use pulleys but I do use a bull rope. A bollard is different though, I would never go back to using the old method of putting wraps around the stem.
