I voted for stihl v husky as its an arb forum and more relevant to me. Besides anything with landy or toymota in the thread title is simply easy to ignore by not opening it. -
Sounds like they are worth the money then. Whether I can still part with the cash though is another thing.

Anyone that advertises Katie Price and Kerry Katona should be shot and buried. Honestly does anyone care if they take another breath? Although the most annoying thing of the 21st century is the garbage that is pop idol/xfactor/britains got talent/celebrity on ice/strictly come dancing/so you think you can dance, crap. Anyone who votes for the above needs a well good slapping.

When I get chest coughs/infections they seem to last an age. Not had one for awhile though thankfully.

Felled a dead one, seen plenty more that look dead but also a few that have no signs at all of frost damage. Wonder if its certain species that are more susceptible?

I was looking at the husky as it does seem to be a nice saw and they MUST have got it right by now! But, they squared off the back end and the new stihl is now rounded(which was my major gripe with the 020)! If only husky and stihl would send me one to try out. Otherwise I'm going for the AMA top handle.

That sounds fairly poor since it did look like it had a lot going for it. Seemed to have plenty of power though so surprised at the comments! What glitches BTW?

I reckon it depends on where you are based or willing to travel to for a kick off. With the amount of emails and calls I get from lads asking for work I bet there are loads working for less than £90 a day. I was getting £100 but that was 3 years ago. Although I am crap.

Ah right thanks. I was just wondering if they only asked for them if people say they have less than XXyears experience etc. Never been asked to prove I have them but only used 2 different companies over the last 15 years. Does seem odd that some get asked and some dont though.

I bought a brand new, old 020 carb years ago and swap it over when the ms200t's fail or play up or to check if its a carb issue with a dodgy saw. Cant remember where I bought it from, it was a carb importer/dealer rather than a Stihl dealer. I had to modify the filter plate as the old carb doesnt have a compensator on it. Oh, and its never needed cleaning out in about 5 years.

Therein lies the BIG problem today. If something had gone wrong, someone would be to blame, and where there's blame, theres a greedy little solicitor whispering money bags into someones ear. Good on you for helping them out.

Well it is a strange comparision if that's how you are going o compare it! We have rules and regs that if we adhere to we wouldnt have an accident. Isn't it better to stop an accident rather than respond to one? I would love someone to have said "OI!!! You are about to slip an drop the 020 onto your hand!" I do agree with what you say though about just a 2 day rescue course being pointless. There's No way I would want the HSE to start asking for more though!

Why not just scrap the requirement for an aerial rescuer altogether? I don't see wagon drivers or coach drivers having to have a rescue driver in case they fall asleep and kill a load of people which happens quite often. Unless there is a very experienced, full time climber on hand with some sharp spikes and a ladder I certainly won't be expecting to get rescued. I know that someone who just has the ticket isn't competent but do they know that? Or do others that don't really understand or care?
