  1. Brilliant!!! 34 is great. An 69.
  2. You can get away with absolutely anything. Well until you/them get investigated. If they see someone has been claiming for washing machines, food, standard clothes etc they will ASSUME there is massive fiddling going on and it can cripple and bankrupt people. Obviously being an open forum its not very wise to get into tax evasion. All I can say is claim for everything that you need to run your business if you dont need it to operate then theres a very good chance you cant claim it back. Im sure many a good hard working bloke who has built his business up from nothing has been walloped by the tax man for doing something silly, dont let it be you. Look at it this way, no one wants to pay tax, but a large tax bill means a large profit. Thats the only way I can come to terms with handing my hard earned over to the blood suckers.
  3. Is pic 3 a red herring! Surely its not the same tree as 1 and 2? Im gonna say pear tree as no one else has.
  4. Can it be overloaded? Im just thinking as a hire machine it will have certainly been put through its paces, with a bit of the "Watch what I can pick up lads!" Im sure you can sort it out though.
  5. You could try fiberglass, ie loft insulation. Its used, or was used in the exhaust of motorbikes, it muffles the sound but wont ignite. I think just stuffing it in the exhaust might kill the engine though!
  6. No doubt making the exhaust port smaller and/or adding extra baffles will certainly quieten it. Wont do the power any favours or engine life. I suppose a custom exhaust would be the best bet but not cheap I would imagine! Sorry cant be of any direct help, will be interesting to see if its been tried though.
  7. First time I've heard of using salt to effectively treat stumps!

    Public

Joe Public sucks. I was going to expand but I think my first statement sums it up tbh. A pity his exhaust didnt set light to brash!
  9. Theres 17
  10. Are you a tree surgeon?
  11. I suppose its a break from topping conifers!
  12. Yeah one of the lads has a pair. Seem comfy and have a few zip vents for the summer. They arent very tough, but better than some Ive tried ie hiflex.
  13. Sip progress here and they seem to be quite good.
  14. I say fell, as it doesnt fit its surroundings, ie looks wrong. I dont think we take in to consideration if trees look good in the right location. After all, it is the 21st century and its ALL about looks.
  15. Cheers for the info. Think ill look into changing the bottom velcro to the leather style.
  16. Dont use 2 anchor points for branch walking unless you have to. You will be way too slow. Just use the second anchor when cutting, even then a lanyard is more than fine.
  17. Look like quality trousers. Steve, you may wanna read through your post again and edit it a bit.
  18. Theres a massive difference, usually around £100. They do have Kevlar and/blocking material but it won't stop you cutting yourself. It's not that good. I'm thinking about just buying some steel toe cap comfy boots next time I need some tbh. It's not that often I have the saw anywhere near my feet.
  19. Could I ask a favour? Can you take a pic of the bottom attachment? Mine looks different to yours, it has a Velcro fastening which is garbage, your one looks better! As for the length of the gaffs they do look a bit long, I think there are 3 different types.
  20. I'd say you've already lost. She challenged you, not us. Buy some goods to the tune of 2k then sell them high enough to bring in the additional £500. Good luck.
  21. I would want to know exactly what the problems are. We all think we do a great job and you could be right but without finding out what the problems are you will never know.
  22. I reckon that most people get bitten the same amount ie its not that the insects are attracted to some more than others. I think its more to do with how different people react to the bite. Therefore try antihistamines to help with the symptoms. Just my thoughts and ideas after doing a bit of travelling and listening to how some people reckon they have sweeter blood etc etc. I know I have been bitten loads of times but dont usually react to it, were as my Mrs does.
  23. If your going to sharpen them yourself I would invest in a diamond grinding wheel that mounts onto a bench grinder. They last way way longer than a green wheel and are approx a trillion times less hazardous to use. Never tried the ones that mount on angle grinder but from what I hear it's best to grind the steel with a normal grinding disk but use the diamond for the tungsten as the steel can clog the diamond wheel up making it a lot harder to use. I find the cobble stone type of rock the worst as it can smash the tungsten to bits! Always carry a good road bar to dig any stone/bricks out etc.
  24. 5 votes for the willans. Sorry I didnt include it now.
  25. In regards to the posts where the parents will go back to a moved nest with chicks, would that also be the same for a nest containing eggs? I always thought once any nest was moved or touched they wouldnt return.
