  1. I think he meant for the entire job, the tree felling, willow and cherry prune. Hate these types, theres no problem in charging what you like but blagging people and praying on them is a flogging offence at least.
  2. You big bunch of miserable sods! As long as I dont have to work I will celebrate anything. You dont have to be a fan of the Royals to enjoy yourself btw.
  3. Mesterh

    50/1 vs 25/1

I hope you slapped him across the back of the head and took your saw off him!!
  4. Sometimes I think it's just a lottery in regards to who you price against. Sometimes ridiculously cheap, other times ridiculously over the top. Just the other week priced a job in at £300 took 2 1/2 hours of work, next cheapest was £700 and someone wanted £1000! No specialist gear just standard transit and 6 inch chipper. More often than not though it works in exactly the opposite direction.
  5. Sounds like a great idea and will no doubt will be a success. I would Make sure everyone has to post them recorded delivery, insured etc, they don't sound like cheap books to go missing in the post!
  6. True and I see your point. For me though I would rather I was being watched by cctv when say away from my private residence in the hope that scum who don't deserve any freedom whatsoever are filmed and caught.
  7. Hopefully that's a very bad move by him. With any luck bt will bill him since he new it was unsound but failed to do anything about it. At least no one was hurt or injured when it failed.
  8. You could set up your own firm like everyone else if you think you are being hard done by. Besides if there's something the arb industry needs its more small companies.
  9. Cheers I'll give it a go. I did use some .8 mig wire which kept snapping, but, I think I had to sharp a bend radius compared to ones in the pic.
  10. Just a quick one. What diameter piano wire and overall length for 16 strand? Oh diameter in mm please as when I've looked for gauge and inch it gets a bit confusing:blushing:
  11. Is that in 3D?
  12. Well said that man. As long as we are all clean living who cares where we are and what we do. Google is better, it will soon tell me what I want, when I want it and who will provide it. I can always choose to ignore it though.
  13. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s4_4abCWw-w]YouTube - Jose Gonzalez - Heartbeats[/ame]
  14. What are the dimensions? I usually struggle to get access for a wheel barrow, would be interesting to see how it compares.
  15. I probably envisionaged it as something it would levitate too if I studied hard. Will be something they revert back to no doubt, that and true apprenticeship. FTR I'm 142.
  16. Yep you dont want to move them about the yard! Surely its cheaper to get a YTS lad in now and then?
  17. Sounds like an anvil problem
  18. Some of the most visual, interesting-------- are pollards.
  19. Must say, he flew around that tree that you cant deny, whether it makes you feel old or slow or whatever. I'd advise him to get an apprenticeship in plumbing or sparking though. Then he can pocket plenty of dough and climb trees for fun at the weekend.
  20. What unit did you add? And what cards do you have? And is your real name bob or is that an acronym for obb?
  21. I like to see someone tidying up. I looked at a job this week to remove an old habitat of fallen trees and scrub because "It looks bad and needs tidying". IMPEO there are far too many wood lice anyway, I dont think we need anymore.
  22. OMG! It will be down before youve thought "I think Mesterh's idea was the best" I hope you dont charge by the hour:001_huh:
  23. Ive got 3, although one has missing units that I do hold!!! One for chainsaw tree stuff, one for pesticides and another for Power line work.
  24. I could lend you my harness. Just clip into one of the tool strops and you will be fine. What Ive done in the past is unclip just after cutting and hold my strop so I can just let go if need be.
  25. Imagine driving all the way there to see the view, then finding out the rest of the field has been closed! I woulda just snook around it when no one was looking tbh.
