  1. how do you get MOD clearance? i have a land rover 109", own saws ect, cs30/31/38 and doing 39 later this month. But obviously no clearance, cant see any particular reason as to why i wouldnt though. Based warwickshire but am happy to travel can be contacted on here (although i share the computers with journalists so can go days without checking), email is [email protected], mob. 07763092535, office 01789 730320
  2. hi i am interestted but i need to know when? what equipment is needed? and what is the pay? i have a cs30/31, cscs will be doing my cs38 hopefully at the end of this month (already done training so just the assessment) and cs39 end of next month. please pm me with these details or contact me on 07763092535, 01789 730320, [email protected] (i have been having problems with recieving some emails so if i do not respond please do not think i am just being rude) regards Jack Mee
  3. hi all, i am available to work anywhere within 50 miles of Stratford on Avon. As well as in the Hereford area and Tiverton (devon) area if there is a few days work. I have cs30/31 and a cscs card, i also have done my cs38 training but not yet taken the assessment. I have a Land Rover 109 pick up but she does drink a bit of fuel and sound like a lancaster bomber so i prefer not to use her unless necessary and the diesel is covered. Will work elsewhere if digs are provided and there are a few days work. Regards Jack Mee
  4. hi all, just had a weeks work postponed so i am available to work next week. will travel up to 50 miles from Stratford on Avon. i have my cs30/31 and cscs card. i also have a land rover series 3 109 1 ton but that drinks the diesel so if wanted will be extra. i dont get on the computer often so better to call on 07763092535 / 01789 730320, or email me at [email protected] regards Jack
  5. sorry, i can still do this weekend but i am now booked up for 2 weeks from monday
  6. i can do this weekend if thats any good, and any day next week other than friday. i have cscs, cs30 and cs31, have a long wheel base series land rover if needed but would rather use the peugeot 206 (better fuel consumption and ride). i am based between warwick and stratford on avon so can do Banbury or Birmingham will try to keep up to date with posts but share my computer, contact details are: 07763092535; 01789 730320; [email protected]
  7. hi, i have tuesday and wednesday available this week. i have my cscs card, cs30 and cs31. i have been trained for cs38 but as yet not taken the assessment. i have a long wheel base series land rover pick up if needed. PLEASE DO NOT PM ME as i share my computer with a journalist and statistition so can go for some time without computer access. contact details are; mob; 07763092535 tel; 01789730320 email; [email protected] regards Jack
  8. sorry guys, i share my computer with a journalist so havent been able to get on here much since starting the thread. thatnks for all of the advice, will take it all into account (even the advice saying dont put yourself through the stress of a job this big on your first go). All of the ground is too steep for a harvester but i can winch i have all the equipment i will need inc. winches, tractors, trailors, chainsaws, a jcb 360 and a telehandler. i am still waiting on the client to return from a holiday to find out the density but from memory it seems like a well managed woodland and certainly isnt sparsely covered regards Jack
  9. hi all, I have been asked if i can clear fell 500 acres of larch (predominantly). The ground is too steep for heavy machiones over most of the area and i will need to winch all of the timber to a suitable place on the site. I have never before quoted a felling job of my own and dont have a clue what to quote. please help. would also be interested on your views as to how long it will take and how many people i should take on and any advice. regards jack
  10. if u want a splitter who doesnt care much about bees im happy to do some splitting so long as theres a few days work and they are bees not wasps or hornets
  11. i have an old land rover, if you want reliability and comfort land rover defenders arn't the best choice but they have plenty of character. i would go for the new toyota hilux or the ford ranger, possibly a mitsu l200 but the pre 2004 engine has a habit of self destructing
  12. go to a diy store and get a red light and some bee/ wasp killer foam or powder. at night go and spray the killer down the hole. only use a red light because bees and wasps cant see red ( sounds odd but always works with me) not as effective when the nest is underground but a few nights running should do it
  13. Have worked with Mark a couple of times, good, hard worker, and easy to get on with. And very patient.
  14. thanks guys will look into those. cant really do no green, its just what come home from the jobs but i try to get a fair amount of wood through to make it a slightly better quality and less to bring home anyway
  15. hi all, does any one know what woodchip sells for these days? and how i would go about selling it? jack
