  2. I assume it didnt kill the tree, what did it do as in slowing them up?
  3. Time I bought a new one, just wondering what the general thoughts are on whats a good one to buy. Bearing in mind it needs to take a little bit of abuse.
  4. That is something that I believe shouldnt happen. Otherwise I/we could be potentially blamed for the failure of numerous trees in the future. Are there any cases of the above? ie tree surgeons being blamed for the failure of trees due to previous work?
  5. No you dont. I just use a google map image and draw in the boundaries if they arent clear. If it all looks very clear and easy to locate the tree from the map then there shouldnt be a problem Cant you arrange a site visit with the TO to go through it?
  6. In the film 'Close encounters of the thrid' kind theres a bit where to stop aliens gettting down the chimney(the pesky buggers:001_rolleyes:) some woman closes over a sort of trap door just above the fire in the chimney breast. I reckon thats the answer your looking for.
  7. I think it might have more to do on how quickly or slowly you get drunk from different beverages. Probably also depends on your mood at the time of drinking too. Having a nice glass of wine with a meal or downing loads of pints in a grotty pub full of sted heads. All good stuff though.
  8. I'm sure Mr Bolam got the joke but you obviously didnt so sorry for any misunderstanding eh!
  9. I'm sure Mr Bolam got the joke but you obviously didnt so sorry for any misunderstanding eh!
  10. Did the tree in the second pic have that much of a lean when he left the ground? Oh, half decentish pics btw.
  11. You spoke to the bloke she is now dating?
  12. As a 'reasonable' person they are supposed to ask first though, I think.
  13. Certain works can be 'enforced' but they do have to try and get the customer to agree first. Unless extreme circumstances, ie wind/storm damage etc.
  14. Hope the tree work went smoother than the video advertising! Actually I dont, I hope to see a big nasty !"*&)*&"($"$ up.
  15. When did all this 'illegality' come into place? Surely that means you can be prosecuted for drilling a hole in the exhaust of your 020! That cant be right, surely!?
  16. Probably the worst looking bit of arb kit I've ever seen. Should go well with the pfanner helmet though.
  17. Dont seem to be able to find the T540xp on any of the Husky web sites now. Looks like they have pulled it! Well thats the conclusion Im jumping too.
  18. There have been a few threads on this but I think the answer is, make sure you have the little notch lined up, make sure the oil isnt over filled(although the newest caps have a little hole so they dont hydraulic and not push in) make sure the bit you twist hasnt moved a bit before you try to fit the cap, clean up any crap around where the cap sits, and push down on the cap as you turn it(probably the most important bit IMO) Tbh you are probably best PMing one of the members called Skyhuck(you can find him from the member list right at the very bottom of the page) as he can probably give you a few pointers.
  19. Do you think he will do a NTP cut or a flush cut? The customer doesnt know best, the professional does, just dont tell them that.
  20. Things have been poor for the last 2 years tbh.
  21. P&P is only £45, deffo a bargain.
  22. Also seems another 'popular' problem with arbs. Could be worthy of its own poll. What symptoms did you have if you dont mind me asking? Hope the op sorts it out.
  23. Sounds like some of you suffer quite badly. Seems as though it does affect a fairly high percentage, a lot higher than I thought there would be! Cheers for the info and comments, always good to highlight stuff like this that can creep up on you without knowing. Bob, a good few nice little tips there too, especially number 5. I wonder if stuff like aspirin will help as that thins the blood and can help with circulation.
  24. Looks like you wont have to do much branch walking and as long as you are anchored into the stem I doubt it will snap out. Hope you saw is nice and sharp.
  25. Does that mean you are going to give it a miss? At 3 metres its probably a simple enough job for trained/experienced power line lads but my advice is dont do it and dont believe the house holder one bit!!!! Besides even if you dont get electrocuted but blow the lines you will get severely stung by the power company to sort it out, and your insurance wont be interested.
