  1. I always put it on choke after a refuel and it fires fine. May need a bit of tweeking on the h/l screws
  2. Im always right, but I always nit pick.
  3. IMO you need the certs. People will say experience is everything but its not, tickets dont mean an awful lot either. Old people have experience, depends if its a good one though! Most pros will have the certs.
  4. Aha, but its not for free, you are still getting a lot out of it.
  5. Yeah, how did it go?
  6. Ahh right makes sense to me now! For some reason I thought it was ring barking as in the entire circumference.
  7. 1 to report the post to mods.
  8. Yep your right, but I trump that with bacteria. All hail that mold hating animal/plant/Monera.
  9. I knew you were an avid fisherman but......
  10. Incredible work.
  11. Going off on a slight tangent, havent trees only been about for the last 250 million years or so? If so praise the algae of the ancient world.
  12. I have quite a few different ideas for the arb industry but 2 I reckon are good. Ill prob never get around to do anything about it though. Good luck with your invention, hope you all the best.
  13. Do you restart it on choke or after refueling?
  14. How else am I supposed to pay for a yacht?
  15. Tree work is a very very easy profession to get into. Therefore there are loads of 'tree surgeons' looking for work. As for running out of trees, I dont think so. There are plenty of big trees Ive quoted works on that never get done, there will be plenty left for the future so not to worry.
  16. For one small job every two weeks surely there is no way it can be viable. As a full time business no doubt it will be.
  17. I voted for the client as 99.9% of the time its just a job. Always try to give the best advice I can in regards to the tree but its the customers decision for me at the end of the day(H8 that saying!) Have sort of refused to do tree work only on a handful of occasions when I thought it was 'not right'. I cant afford to have a conscience I'm afraid.
  18. Probably just flooded. Leave the plug out for a good while then give it a try. You could try turning it over with the ignition off, the plug out and the saw upside to help/speed it up.
  19. You've lost me. well if you think I'm stamping my feet at something. I just couldnt have someone graft for me and not pay them, that's all I'm saying. Couldnt care what anyone else does, at least if they have a few people gaining experience and not having to pay them they can be more competitive than others. Everyones a winner. I suppose in answer the the OP, no arb isn't the only industry there are plenty of others. As long as people are genuinely learning a skill(hopefully not just dragging brash as I've seen before!) or gaining a job then good luck.
  20. Of course not. Tbh I don't see the connection. Im not making the customer any money by proving them with a free quote.
  21. With the"big society" on the way we will all soon have to be volunteers working free. Have had loads of cv's and people asking for jobs over the years but not one has said they would do it for free to gain experience, quite a lot have been college leavers. Tbh I couldnt have someone working and not pay them or let then think they arent getting paid.
  22. Go on then man!! You have to tell us what it was??? I invented rocket boots.
  23. What I would say is take your time when trying a new system out. I tried a vt and hitch climber after using just a prussik and side strop(im already one step ahead of you:biggrin:) for nigh on 15 years. It was an experience i can tell you that! Back to the prussik for now untili get the time to take my time learning how to use it properly.
