  1. Fantastic mate! You have some real skill there!
  2. I think your dead right there, but unfortunatly if climbers are still earning about the same as they were five years ago, there is little chance of a change of pay.
  3. Sounds like he had to much tension on the pick to me,thats what makes them jump.
  4. Not at all! Space for plenty more chip on top of those logs.
  5. Great first chipper I reckon.Well built, simple and reliable. All the bits are easy to service or replace yourself if needed.Just a bit unstable when driving off kerbs and such like, but remember that and you'll have no worries.
  6. Looks great that does! Wish I had a winch like that!
  7. What are your hopes for the future? Immigrate, have kids, have more kids? Me,I want to be back in NZ by the time I'm forty.Buy a shop in a coastal town and spend my weekends and evenings hunting and surf casting. How about you?
  8. I bet the 026 was smoking hot after that job mate! Good thing it was a Poplar and not a 36" Oak eh.
  9. Just bad technique and watching the guys mannor,I think he was new to it all.

And everyone who spouts out that old chestnut, seems to work in an office!
  11. The last guy who owed me money got his chipper confiscated untill he paid up. Can't reason with the unreasonable
  12. I beleive its more of a "life style choice" than pursuing a career.Especially if your running a business.
  13. Yup.If sombody is hired to perform a service,in this case climbing and fail to do it properly then its their problem not mine. Just as I would be expected to pay for or replace any damage to a subbies gear or job.
  14. He's your subbie,so the damage it his problem. Explain that to him, inform the client of his mistake and that he will fix it.Then call back to check that its been done. Delegation and Management.
  15. Big Vermeer Blades are 210ft/lbs Don't worry about the blades not beeing clean,if I catch that groundie "foot feeding" the Farmi,he'll be licking them clean. And the Track gear
  16. I would love to get one! One would have been valuable today,to record one of the groundies pushing a short peice into the chipper with his foot, then to record his reaction to my Boot crashing into his arse.

    stihl 076

You should be able to find one somwhere,I know they do a 20" 404 gauge chain in NZ.They would source it from europe or Canada most likely.
  18. I wound them up to 140 NM,thats 110ft pounds. No "clicking" banging, clanking or peices of blade firing through the top of the chute. Sucess

Very good saw,is it an 076AV? Won't matter anyway if its on a mill,I beleive the AV just stands for "anti vibration". Enjoy it!
  20. Do you need chainsaw gloves in the UK now? Sounds a bit weird to me.
  21. Blow the chips over the side Andy! Its just leaves and wood mate!
  22. Bet you struggle getting out of bed though old fella:bird:
  23. I have also noticed a large percentage of climber smoke.Usually roll ups as well.
  24. Tidy bit of stiching on that mate! Hope it heals up well!
