  3. Black Poplars are always easy to "Boot Prune".Wether intentional or not your Boots seem to find the branches that nature dosn't seem to want the tree to keep:ohmy:
  4. And the word "Front" written on the feed tray.
  5. Very nice indeed mate!
  6. Getting into a Helicopter at the break of Dawn and flying into the Southern Alps.Getting dropped off on a ridge at 4000ft and sitting down, listening to the Helo's engine noise fading into the distance.Making a quick brew and starting off on a weeks Thar hunt.
  7. Nothing is fool proof to a sufficently talented Fool Dave. I,like most of us have met people who challange Charles Darwins theory on a daily basis.
  8. Haunch of Venison with a few chunks of Garlic pushed into small cuts, along with bits of cracked pepper.Roasted in a covered tray for a few hours. Served with freshly baked bread and a robust Red Wine.

  10. Propper job mate! Maybe consider a Humbolt Notch next time you are recovering the timber? Leaves any waste in the stump and makes for a flush Butt.I for one appreciate a nice Butt.

  20. Thanks mate. Somthing I would like to do in the future, like you, just not right now.I would like to attend some hazard tree workshops though.
  21. Could you tell me more about it or give me a linky?
  22. Its just practice and being a bit sympathetic imho.I did bloody streets of crown reductions and thins in London. When you are no longer having to think about every cut and doing it instinctively, producing the result thats desired.
  23. Clients were pleased.I thinned it a bit,the Beeches here are often full of crossing branches, took them out and kept the thinning to that. Reducing it any further would probably ment that I ruined the shape I recon.
  24. I don't do many crown reductions, one or two a month max.The client asked for the tree abit smaller.I was trying for about a 30% crown reduction. Does it look about right for that? Before
  25. Next time you work there. The sun will be beaming, the garage unlocked, inside will be a fridge full of Beer. Crack a few open... "When you get home"
