  1. Here is a Gaupa (lynx) This one was almost 20kg in weight. They are seldom seen here in Norway apparantly,so this guy was lucky to bag one.
  2. Saw this on another site. Has anyone shot one of these or even taken a picture of one?I understand that people were once allowed to keep predatory cats as pets in the UK,so perhaps there is a breeding population of them? http://www.advertiser24.co.uk/content/advertiser24/news/story.aspx?brand=NOROnline&category=News&tBrand=NOROnline&tCategory=News&itemid=NOED07%20Apr%202009%2009%3A01%3A21%3A600
  3. I have one of these back home. Dangerously slow. Mine is Green and that makes it slower probably.
  4. Dosn't matter how big the chipper is....Someone will still jamb somthing into it that won't fit. The time saved by being able to move the chipper to the brush with a tracked machine, out weighs the disadvantage of smaller diameter capacity.
  5. I think it looks pretty good John. Imagine how much chip you could get into a Caravan!
  6. Good thing is wasn't a concreate pole.
  7. I guess that the winch you will get will have a ground anchor like Daves one?I thought you were going to mount your Werner winch on three point linkage so thats where I was wrong. If you ever need to find out how bogged a Mog can get,I gladly volunteer my services
  8. I can only imagine that a mid mounted winch is never strung facing the way you need it at the time. Also it must have been nasty sliding yourself under a stuck wagon to poke the cable through the fairlead that was facing the way you need it.
  9. Will the three point linkage on the front be able to handle pulling your Mog out if its loaded and bogged? I know it will depend on how stuck it is (ie up to the axels) but I have bent the blade on the mini digger when using it as a ground anchor and pulled various other "anchors" apart when recovering my Mog with just a large Turfor winch.
  10. Here is the video of the Zipline we made in action. A bit slow in raising the wood but heaps better that lugging the timber down the hill and over a little Bridge. [ame] [/ame]
  11. FJ70 Cruiser that one.Probably last of the "propper" Cruisers.Big non Turbo Diesel,no fancey bits. They still manufacture them for export.
  12. Funny thing was that the Crusier had been "stiched" on both sides.None of the rounds had made it through into the cab. I was told that the Bedouin sometimes hammer vehicles that they find in area's that they feel belong to them.In the end,I don't know the story behind the car.
  13. Nice pic's indeed! Can't beleive the weather is so nice over there. I am being robbed.
  14. Here is a landcruiser I spotted in Egypt.Someone had shot it up.
  15. Hummer. If its an H2,big Chev V8.Loads of power and very comfy.
  16. Works well, abit slow with the chain hoist but it easy to control the logs.
  17. Set this up this morning,we have over the last week been felling Trees in a School yard and now all the wood must be extracted. There is a deep stone clad drain in the middle of the yard and a steep bank to the rear. We put up the Zip line using 10mm Steel cable, one block riding the wire and another fastened to the Spar down the hill. The chain block works well in hoisting the logs to the wire.Off the rider block is a Tail rope that runs to the Head Tree, through a pully and down to the Port a Wrap. So far so good, got about 15 ton of logs to remove and will screw eye bolts into the big rounds and take them out like that.
  18. Tidy job Andy. Did that feild used to hold Horse's?
  19. I can see why it would be tempting to burn them. They look like they would burn really well. Do you somtimes find animals and nasty insects in the Palms?
  20. Have you used your chipper yet? I had a CH160,it was good on anything without leaves.A real pain with Connifer, especially wet stuff. Also the quality of the chip was very coarse. The Blade to Anvil gab had to be very close or the chip would be unsuitable for gardens. The Farmi chippers are designed for wood fuel production and not Arb work. However the CH260 is thought of very highly in the Arb industry.
  21. They are good. Unless like me you blow the gearbox changing lanes on the Sheppards Bush roundabout during rush hour.
  22. Crap Poem. Decent Statue though.
  23. I'd just use that. Easy on,easy off.Mine also doubles as a "stump detector" when travelling in long grass. Invaluable!
  24. You could buy a Anbauplatte. Its just a cast steel plate with arms that mount to existing holes on your Unimog chassis. They are not hard to remove and many items like chippers and other implements bolt straight to them. You could easily make a basic ridgid mount along the same lines. Check out http://www.truckscout24.de for bits and peices like that. Also ebay Germany has alot of unimog bits on it. Your ch140 most likely has mounts for three point linkage, but if it was like my ch160 then your could weld somthing up to fit.
