  1. Core the Apples and chop then into bits that will fit in a Food Processor. Puree the Fruit and pour into large Bowl.Add some Pectin if the mixture is too runny.Or if the leather is going to be eaten withing a week you can thicken it with some crushed whole wheat biscuits. If the mixture isnt too watery there is no need to thicken it. Get baking trays with raised sides if you have them,or cover normal ones with Tin Foil and just raise the tin foil around the edges to stop the mixture sliping off. Bake on lowest heat for 4 to 6 hours, leave the door open just a hair.Use all the racks in your oven. Best of luck!
  2. Fruit leather? If you are interested in the recipe I will find it for you.It worked out well in my first batch, much better than the commercial stuff.
  3. Cool! I'm hiring a car at the airport,so will look for accom in Oxford over the weekend.
  4. A city north of London Andy!I hear there is actually people in the lands north of London, although I didn\t confirm reports of that during the five years I lived there.lol
  5. I"m flying into London on the Friday evening and heading to the APF on the Saturday. Can anyone suggest a town/city about an hour or two north of Gatwick?I`d stay there the night and then head to the APF in the morning. Thanks
  6. Sorry to hear that mate.Keep your chin up and you never know, this might be the best thing that has happened to you.
  7. Well done for posting that! Hope you have made a full recovery!
  8. Take it slowly mate! Also introduce yourself to the driver, help him set up the pads and fill him in on your general plan.If you have radio contact with the driver agree on the terns you'll use,"boom up","cable down" etc.If you don't have radio's agree on hand signals for the above movements. Have him keep you up to date on how much the crane can lift at each point, especially if the boom has been lowered or your thinking of a big Pick. The cranes lift capacity can be reduced by fairly small adjustments (from your end of things anyway). I hope this hasn't sounded too "Sergent Majorish",been safe, have fun and take loads of Piccies!
  9. Good stuff! I hope you poisoned the roots so you never have to come back again.....
  10. I don't agree with you there mate.Brittish make up the bulk of Arborists that immigrate to NZ.As a rule they don't have the experiance in large tree removals that commands top dollar. Reduction and thinning as you know it in the UK are a very small part of the Tree industry in New Zealand. Head out there and have a look by all means, the style of work changes slightly from one City or Island to the next. If you have your HGV then you will be along way ahead as much of the kit is bigger than in the UK.
  11. Thanks to al who replied,I'll give the Norwegian outfit a call on monday!Cheers
  12. My dad has had fourth year Engineering students that were unable to change the battery in a cordless drill!
  13. Fingers crossed for you mate!
  14. Sounds like its a concience issue ,so give the man a call and know that you have at least settled with yourself. Me?I'd look at the fact that your advertising is working and be happy that I lived in a free country.
  15. Denso 052600 12V Yes Dean is right it is a stop Solinoid, and yes Jim I would love to walk into a parts shop and Deal with somone who actually knows what they are talking about!I could spend all day trying to find one here, end up ordering it from Oslo only to find its the wrong one!
  16. I need two of these little things, for a Jensen 528 tracked chipper. One as a spare. Who sells them please?
  17. Splendid! I'm already merging my knowledge of firearms and wood by producing very short AK47 stocks. Makes them more practical for the soldiers under seven years old.

    pay

Just depends really mate.Getting paid monthly is uncommon in the private sector,I only had one boss who did it.But Local Authorities (LA's) are big companies really.
  19. The saw bench of yours would be fine on smaller stuff. But the beauty of the "mini mill" vertically mounted chainsaw that runs on a wee track. Is that if your breaking down big logs you can slide the slab to one side and start making beams with the slab still sitting on the rest of the log.Your sawbencg will limit the thickness of your beams by how far out you can wind the saw blade.Mini mill you'd only be limited by the lenght of your bar.
  20. Well done! Looks good that does! I am supprised that the plastic around the engine cowling is exposed,if you slewed the head and struck another object it could be an easy source of damage? Have you had any issue's with airborne debris overheating the engine as the inflow for the engine is close to the cutting head. I think its a great idea Ed,just trying to give some feedback mate.
  21. No.But you'll probably find one on http://www.ebay.de.They seem to show up regularly, some in new condition.
  22. But not after your smelled fresh Red Ceder sawdust and felt the ground shake after you decked one it would!
  23. Happy birthday Ian! Many happy returns mate!
  24. We have one that we hire to clients who decide to keep the wood. Its had a pretty hard life and after a year of being used by novice's it still works ok.If the one your thinking of using is a horizontal version like ours, you might want to make a wee stand for it,(like a mini saw horse).Operating and loading timber onto somthing at ground level gets old pretty quick. Also they tip over easy in operation.
