  1. I still lived in London when that first came in.All it seemed to do was encourage people park at a train station abit further away than they used to, then get the train in.
  2. Should have left the engine running Dean. Problem solved.

New caps are "the experts choice",except no experts seem to like them. Old screw type caps on the 066's here in Norway.
  4. I would recomend getting your HGV if you don't already have it.It will make you much more attractive as a prospective employee and give you a back up in the slack times. Your atitude will count so much more than your gender in this industry.I have met/worked with/and helped train many climbers. The climbers attitude is whats important. Best of luck with your search!
  5. Numerous stitches both inside and out,020 into chest. Lost a bit of my pectoral muscle and it also seemed to have stunted the growth of my chest hair.
  6. Tying the lowering rope below the peice I was snatching down. Only done it once, once was enough.
  7. Get some base experiance and then head overseas for abit.
  8. Diesel and waste engine oil works very well to preserve wood outdoors. Its not very eco freindly but it works.
  9. I've just done the bearings in the PTO box on my mog.Although only the rear output bearing was going bad,I took the box completely out and replaced all the bearings right through.Having the box off I discovered that the PTO thrust ring had fallen off the clutch fingers and broken a finger mount in the process.I am pleased I took the whole box off. You might be lucky and find all the bearing at another supplier, but as some have a groove in the casing for an external circlip you might have to source those from a dealer. If I had been inclined to only replace the rear output bearing, then you could do it by taking off the rear output flange and after taking draining the oil, take the rear cover off the output and intermediate shaft. There is a drain plug under the rear PTO shaft but I would advise against undoing it,as they can be hard to acess and since you are taking the rear cover off,oil in that area will come out the back.
  10. I like trees but...the chipper likes them more!
  11. I hope that you at lease pee'd in her garden.
  12. 200 days of rain on average here in Bergen. No choice but to get on with it.
  13. Yes you did then,"Tony treadmill" is also there!
  14. Nice work mate! Did you do that one with "Ibiza Chris"? Great to meet you at the show mate!
  15. Putting a tow ball on the front of a vehicle is a god send in tight snakey driveways.Solves any hideous reversing problems.
  16. Over all it greatly exceeded my expectations.I agree the entrance fee was steep, perhaps a set fee per car would be more agreable. Generally I was very impressed by the standard of presentation of the vendors stands, full credit to those who exibited. Wish I had more time there,as well as a more generous baggage allowance as I ad to fly back to Norway the next day.
  17. I'd crane it.Swing the lengths onto the Trailer with the "leaves" hanging over the end,cut the green bits off.Repeat and you will have a loaded Trailer and a pile of Green bits. Chip And then revel in the loverly loaded trailer,sap-less hands and valuable timber you have gained. Macrocarpa is used back home for building Boats, making furntiture as well as cracking firewood. Looks like a good job:001_smile:
  18. Sad news indeed. My condolences to his family and freinds.
  19. Had a Tree Officer when I first worked in London,he used to say "give it a decent 17% reduction and a 5 to 10% thin" Errrr......Ok then.
  20. Here is a link to a guy who set his chokers too low.The peice size wasn't really the problem, the placement of the strops was.[ame=http://http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HRILH4mNjIo]http://http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HRILH4mNjIo[/ame]
  21. I am glad you brought that up Jim. Formally I used to stamp a series of Dots on my cutters, however due to the teeth being filed I would quickly loose the data.I then used a microscope and numbered them in a much smaller pattern, however this proved too time consuming and my trainspotting and attendance at vintage farm machinery rallies suffered.
  22. I engrave a number into each of my cutters with a Dremel, measure each ones length with Verniers and record the data on an hourly basis. Imagine the fun I have with a bag of Rice....
