  1. Ok thanks Dean! I normally use a socket with insulation tape wrapped round it to center the clutch. But theres no shortage of room to work on the clutch buy the looks of things.I'll tip the deck up and prop it,the Hiab will be in there as well holding the gearbox up.
  2. Sounds like a great tool! I've decided to do the clutch in the Beford. It came with one and the thrust bearing is making some noise so I may as well do that on saturday.Could I bodge a centering tool with a socket and some tape?Or is the end of the crank too big for that?
  3. What laws were they breaking riding a blimmin mower? What would the Bobby rather have?Kids having a laugh or kids loitering outside the off licence? Sad.
  4. Since your doing a reduction,it could be likely an old Pollard with some pretty skinny upright growthTo gain a higher anchor-point I used to link two or three individual upright "tops" together with Prusik's or you could use webbing slings.Snap a pulley into this system and you get all the tops moving together,it might be a bit wavey but it always worked for me.
  5. At Chest hight would't your hand be in a better position to engage the chain break by impact rather than inertia in the event of a kickback?Chainbreaks often get "sticky" and don't always engage by inertia when the saw is used horizontally. I agree with the logic behind cutting at waist level, but in practice it seems like a strange requirement.
  6. They refit and clean these things just outside of Bergen.
  7. I'd speak English if I were English:001_smile: Anyway, the way the immigration flow is going half of the UK will have relatives who speak like me in a few years. I'll give up the trees and offer translation services.
  8. Do you use the top part of the Bar nose to make the bore cut in the UK?If I understand that right, then you would be using the part of the Bar most likely to produce a "Kick Back"? I knew I'd get a Rollocking for not wearing the Visor, but they arn't to my knowledge manditiory in Norway.I have got chip in my eyes regardles of it being up or down,it rains alot here and is more of a hinderance to good visibility than a protective device.
  9. Ha ha! Who's got one of those?I'd love to have a drive. Were they originally used as gun tractors?
  10. The more complex an item, the more likely it is to fail.As the more systems required for its function increase the number of things that could go wrong. My mobile phone malfunctions almost daily.
  11. Alas all the teenage girls that fancyed Gary were at lease ten years to young!
  12. Nice pictures Mani! Welcome and thanks for sharing.
  13. [ame=http://http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RWXWh6wDOXY]http://http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RWXWh6wDOXY[/ame]I was practicing teaching a class and videoed the fell. The guy who rolled up at the end of the video ignored the flagger and just drove around him. Next time I'll bring road spikes. The high stump is so its easier to see.
  14. Well done! Looked like a great day for a bit of carnage!
  15. Sounds like NZ in the 1980's was like the UK in the 70's.We had only two channels untill 1989,no Mc Donalds in the South island untill then.T.V. came on after mid day and off at 2400.I wore shorts all through my school time, from five untill 16years old!Used to have to fill the wood box after school and light the fire if it had gone out.We used to go Rabbit shooting before school and hide our Rifles in a hollow Poplar tree at the bus stop! Ofcourse we would take the ammo and bolts to School..just to be safe!
  16. Have you seen the one where they overload the crane? It "wheel stands" and the front axel is 15 feet off the ground! I'll try and find it.
  17. Didn't know they exixted! That would be just the ticket for us as there are many rocks in gardens here.
  18. Thats true,a mate back home had one,try even thinking about going hunting...... If we were going out for a shot without it,it would "disappear". Smartest thing to come out of and live in Australia!
  19. My mate sent me a TXT message about this shortly after it happened. She was at the festival and said that the branch just let go in virtually no wind.It was stinking hot that weekend, she is no Arborist and couldn't tell me what kind of Tree it was. http://http://www.balkaninsight.com/en/main/news/11772/
  20. I just think that the dialog will go around in circles. Only one of us was there, yes some of us would have done things differently. But it was a hedge, not a Toddler and at the end of the day Tana has stuck by his decision and presented his argument well. End of. Gay cowboy also concurrs:001_smile:
  21. I really like the old gear Dean,I learned spanners helping Dad in our workshop back home. Can you beleive that its rated for a 9 ton payload here in Norway! Could carry the Mog and chipper on it. Wouldn't though!
  22. quote=Tommy_B;50076]Ha ha!! I nearly fouled myself laughing!!! If the gay cowboy says its a good job...... Gay Cowboy knows its a good job, close the thread or you'll all be draggin brush for him in your Y fronts
  23. We recently purchased this beautiful example of Brittish engineering for the pricely sum of £1000 GBP equivalent.Alloy sided tipping deck, set of chains, spare clutch and its only done 49 000KM! I have many fond memories of riding around with dad in these trucks as a child.
  24. Great to have such a valuable informative entertaing resource at your finger tips! Many happy returns to you all!
