  1. Have you used your chipper yet? I had a CH160,it was good on anything without leaves.A real pain with Connifer, especially wet stuff. Also the quality of the chip was very coarse. The Blade to Anvil gab had to be very close or the chip would be unsuitable for gardens. The Farmi chippers are designed for wood fuel production and not Arb work. However the CH260 is thought of very highly in the Arb industry.
  2. They are good. Unless like me you blow the gearbox changing lanes on the Sheppards Bush roundabout during rush hour.
  3. Crap Poem. Decent Statue though.
  4. I'd just use that. Easy on,easy off.Mine also doubles as a "stump detector" when travelling in long grass. Invaluable!
  5. You could buy a Anbauplatte. Its just a cast steel plate with arms that mount to existing holes on your Unimog chassis. They are not hard to remove and many items like chippers and other implements bolt straight to them. You could easily make a basic ridgid mount along the same lines. Check out http://www.truckscout24.de for bits and peices like that. Also ebay Germany has alot of unimog bits on it. Your ch140 most likely has mounts for three point linkage, but if it was like my ch160 then your could weld somthing up to fit.
  6. If your taking the Clutch cover off, might as well treat it to a new Roller Bearing set.Or give it a light grease. When they go the saw is out of action and they don't cost much.
  7. Could you fab up a box thats about the same size as the chipper you would like to mount?Bolt it to the Anbauplatte and see if its easy to drive around.Might be a semi easy way to see if the idea of a front mounted chipper suits you?
  8. Thought that the backlash from this advert was simply stupid.Watch the video and decide for yourselves. http://www.3news.co.nz/Video/National/tabid/309/articleID/97919/Default.aspx#video
  9. Its incredable that Goats get into Trees, but I've seen it back home a few times. I hate Goats.
  10. Well worth watching the whole Vid. http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=25233ab134
  11. All my Ramps are Alloy Dean. Steel Ramps are for Chavs:001_tongue:
  12. Top idea Dean! I should really drill some holes through the ramps and in the deck to peg the ramps as I load.
  13. Four meters are the ramps, yes getting it off on flat ground is pretty straining.
  14. I recently ordered a set of blades from the UK,I was told that Jensen made 9 & 11mm thick blades for the 528.Best to check which thickness is right for your machine. I wonder if your blades broke because the thinner blades added to much gap between the knife and the Anvil?
  15. pics of it
  16. Didn't think the chipper would climb up the ramps onto the Mog,but it does! Took it to a School today, job starts tomorrow.
  17. Who sells them please? The guy advertising them for sale on Earborist hasn't gotten back to me.
  18. Very nice mate!
  19. That Wheel on your bonnet has rust on the Rim Dean. Frankly I would have expected better of you.
  20. I have seen many of these.Unless the Burls had grown to enormous size they generally did not contain any Rot.In the case of Rot being present,it was always in the Burl and not the stem of the Tree.I used to collect them from trees that we felled and sell them to a wood turner. I have never seen a Birch that failed at the point that the Burl had grown from. However thats just my experiance.
  21. I went into a comunity liasion office back home to renew my Firearms licence, there was an old Dear sitting behind the desk. "I'd like the forms to renew my Firearms licence please" I asked "Oh no,you have to be a Fireman to drive a fire engine" she replied. I nearly wet myself laughing.
  22. I would give my eye Teeth for one of those. We have a Merc 811D,great truck but a bit underpowered. One of those 4X4 mercs with the tracked chipper in the back...oohhh...ooohhh
  23. Thanks for the kind offer mate!I will be coming up from London,so it would make sence to stop locally.Be great to catch up though, flights already booked.
