  1. Established Middle Class - that made me laugh out loud
  2. I agree that the set-up sounds incorrect. I found it very smooth to use & tend slack. It is hard to assess in such a short window of use, as it takes time to learn any new system
  3. I disagree on it being a legal requirement when the MBS or WLL is used - please can you tell me where in the legislation it is?
  4. I used to borrow one of those - very nice motors !!
  5. Sorry, I forgot to clarify that having the SWL is not a legal requirement on rigging kit. Hope that helps
  6. If you have the MBS you can work out your SWL which will vary on what factor of safety you use.
  7. That's ok Paul & a well considered & composed post, however, we also need to educate climbers in the removal of dead/hazard trees. The methods used from a mewp can vary significantly, especially rigging. In my mind, climbers need to work on "easy" dead trees, so when a real monster turns up, then they have a much better chance of accurately assessing & working it.
  8. ? Strange comment about a safety issue
  9. dead trees - smooth & gentle. Shock is what causes you problems
  10. Could be the hatz silent pack - my bad
  11. looks like a TP with a Deutzt engine
  12. Funny Reg. Gotta love a bad looser
  13. I sharpen my sugoi - it take a little patience but is worth the effort. Smaller blades cannot be hand sharpened as are impulse hardened
  14. Wow!!! Hard words indeed Your impressions are more from 1993 than 2013 & it sounds like you still have a pic of maggie thatcher on your bedroom wall to jerk off over In this age of cuts & austerity it is about best value - we in LaLa land work, on a whole bloody hard. We get no thanks, provide emergency cover 365 days a year, spend a massive amount of time listening to those who demand our work, less working for those who deserve or need it, dragging brash through dog crap a used nappies on glamorous estates & being scorned by those who can always do better. Right I'm gonna listen to some Billy Bragg & doze off after reading socialist worker
  15. The climber was a guy called Harold "Hap" Johnson from the north west US. He was also the climber in this;
  16. Stunning. Bear is 3 now & 1/2 malamute & 1/2 GSD
  17. tachyon is smooth? It feels quite soft in my hand, but not smooth in comparison to say PI or blaze
  18. Why can't they sort out the problems & charge £35? Simples
  19. I'm not having any issues with my PI. I'm curious to see if it's all ropes or construction dependant.
  20. That does not look kind on the rope. Has anyone had issues with ropes other than Imoi & tachion?
  21. Ty - it's too easy to hate & if thats all you can do you are weak & myopic. With those on the streets, have you ever considered how & why they ended there? Not a proactive choice for many I guarentee
  22. PM Paul RopeTek | Reaching New Heights?.
  23. A pile of brash behind the barriers seems to help. The idiots will walk around barriers, duck under tape etc but the don't like lifting there feet to step over branches
  24. If a tree is favoring to fall very strongly, why do you need a wedge? It's not going to sit-back or require any help getting it moving
