  1. Don't care for such things Andy. I would rather forget it happened & hope the company owner does not
  2. Awesome job:thumbup1:
  3. I cut my arm- major lasceration, whilst working for a company that; Said they had EL & PLI insurance - WRONG Had 1st Aid & Arial rescue tickets - WRONG My fault - I did not check
  4. T H White wrote such classics as "The Once and Future King" & "The Sword in the Stone" Selling chippers must be a side-line
  5. if they are employed to "climb" they are an employee in my opinion. If they are brought in to "wreck a tree out" they could be sub-contractors. It's all thin ice & I just covered them as employees, as the courts would side with them no doubt
  6. You looked that old to start with? Where was your paper round? Must have been brutal:001_tt2:
  7. see-saw
  8. 1 cut - at ground level. It's rubbish having to go back for a small piece. Saw in one hand, tree in other - walk to chipper
  9. You choked a sling though the LJ ? If the sling is rated, it should not be a problem. Have you a pic? The ropeman is not a good idea. Can be a ropecutter when you take a good drop
  10. I footlock, spike up, use srt or ddrt to access, then use ddrt or srwp to work the tree depending on what needs doing. What do I tick
  11. Daniel, it's not a good cut. The separation is too dynamic as opposed to a top& bottom cut correctly executed. I'm not going to comment further, apart from noting my dislike of your arguing methods. Beating down others who disagree is not discourse & your aggression makes it quite difficult to reply to some of your posts. Shame as you bring up some interesting points
  12. How did you calculate the SWL for the bollard?
  13. take it you can type better than walk then:lol: Enjoy mate:biggrin:
  14. Good Andy, but you are no.1. What you survived & battled through no could tree test you that way. I'm proud to know you Andy & call you my friend
  15. Apart from snatching big timber it sounds like it will take a good workout (big timber kills everything)
  16. If the winch is the same size, is your mounting plate too small? Not trying to be negative, just what springs to mind
  17. Cool. Have you considered a fair-lead to ensure the smooth feeding of the rope onto the winch? What are you using to attach it to the tree?
  18. Used 2. first impressive, 2nd very poor. Depends on the construction. Every bit of kit commences being "home-made"
  19. Nice job Mr Haine
  20. Some people appreciate constructive criticism, other think there above it & attract negative comments. Which they ignore of course, ending dialog & pouring a thread into the gutter
  21. Whippet pups are so funny. All legs. I love it when they learn to run fast, but not stop or turn
  22. It must have all ended in Oz & NZ by now
  23. Great job & some very nice iron
  24. Have you retuned it? They are garbage when not run spot-on
  25. +3 to what Scotspine said
