  1. You will say she never called the ANC terrorists, supported Pinochet, financially backed Saddam or passed homophobic legislation (clause 28) next......... No point arguing though, as those who loved her will never hear a truth against her
  2. Dispelling the Thatcher myths | Red Pepper Some basics for starters
  3. Tennex does not have a high enough melting point in my opinion. However, if you want to use a hollow braid there is the better option of using ice tail Product
  4. He's just run out of whiskey again
  5. Took me 12 years before I had mine:thumbdown:
  6. Both work well. With a rope lanyard I say cinch as it can be used in a srt configuration. Wirecore - positioner or perhaps a macrograb if your working pines all the time
  7. If it was failing to bite, then you did have it set up incorrectly. It functions smoothly & grabs reliably when dialed in
  8. Established Middle Class - that made me laugh out loud
  9. I agree that the set-up sounds incorrect. I found it very smooth to use & tend slack. It is hard to assess in such a short window of use, as it takes time to learn any new system
  10. I disagree on it being a legal requirement when the MBS or WLL is used - please can you tell me where in the legislation it is?
  11. I used to borrow one of those - very nice motors !!
  12. Sorry, I forgot to clarify that having the SWL is not a legal requirement on rigging kit. Hope that helps
  13. If you have the MBS you can work out your SWL which will vary on what factor of safety you use.
  14. That's ok Paul & a well considered & composed post, however, we also need to educate climbers in the removal of dead/hazard trees. The methods used from a mewp can vary significantly, especially rigging. In my mind, climbers need to work on "easy" dead trees, so when a real monster turns up, then they have a much better chance of accurately assessing & working it.
  15. ? Strange comment about a safety issue
  16. dead trees - smooth & gentle. Shock is what causes you problems
  17. Could be the hatz silent pack - my bad
  18. looks like a TP with a Deutzt engine
  19. Funny Reg. Gotta love a bad looser
  20. I sharpen my sugoi - it take a little patience but is worth the effort. Smaller blades cannot be hand sharpened as are impulse hardened
  21. Wow!!! Hard words indeed Your impressions are more from 1993 than 2013 & it sounds like you still have a pic of maggie thatcher on your bedroom wall to jerk off over In this age of cuts & austerity it is about best value - we in LaLa land work, on a whole bloody hard. We get no thanks, provide emergency cover 365 days a year, spend a massive amount of time listening to those who demand our work, less working for those who deserve or need it, dragging brash through dog crap a used nappies on glamorous estates & being scorned by those who can always do better. Right I'm gonna listen to some Billy Bragg & doze off after reading socialist worker
  22. The climber was a guy called Harold "Hap" Johnson from the north west US. He was also the climber in this;
  23. Stunning. Bear is 3 now & 1/2 malamute & 1/2 GSD
  24. tachyon is smooth? It feels quite soft in my hand, but not smooth in comparison to say PI or blaze
