  1. That tree is pretty humongous looking. Is the timber as hard as our maples here in the UK?
  2. I would be embarrassed to leave timber stacked in such a fashion & I have met quite a few forwarder driver who would not pick it up. Socks need to be pulled up or new employment found
  3. Stubs are too dangerous if you slip or fall. Either choke you 2nd attachment tight or utilise some form of cambium saver.
  4. Mistakes happen!
  5. I would expect any climber working for me to use one when wrecking trees - Why would you not? modern ones are light & flexible
  6. Where did you import your unicenders from?
  7. Less breakfast stops I recon
  8. Smooth job - good to watch:thumbup1:
  9. Or bigshot & no metal lethal projectile - just a sensible priced throwbag
  10. Note - not recommended on a rotten stump - it's not funny watching the tree go sideways and bending your 30in bar through 90deg
  11. fort Bragg aint that far away
  12. The cuts Peter noted will work on heavy leaners very well
  13. You can still climb upwards whilst crapping your pants
  14. If in doubt (& the tree allows) climb higher & cut smaller
  15. I would get some professional & impartial advice. Then, when you have a range of options decide, because 50% for nothing is alot, however she is due her fair share
  16. Looks well constructed. Good job
  17. If you were to contact PeteB I'm sure he could help you locate one
  18. That makes sense now. It is often hard to ask question after question without appearing to be chasing an agenda. Your thoughts, queries etc on subjects (that are very grey to say the least) helps us all understand a little more & it would be a shame if those, like ourselves did not ask questions & challenge things Pete
  19. Reading your prior posts (including those from other threads), you really do appear to have a vendetta against the zig-zag & now it's new variants, along with a major fixation with certification. Without innovation there can be no development...................
  20. Nice Tom, how well does it work?
  21. LA(day job) - 14 husky & 17 stihl (inc blowers & polesaws) - home 6 stihls W.Yorks
  22. They don't seem to get the real point. Tree work needs to pursue excellence - not the pursuit of legislation & collection of arbitrary certificates. However, It will create a two tier industry & alienate those involved, but they must know that already..............
  23. The ovals are perfect for such a job- they load point to point. Simple additions of rubber bandits helps prevent rotation when not under load
  24. Nice job Reg. I'm really enjoying the more relaxed & real outlook of your footage.
  25. That is some really tidy metal work.
