  1. Fun & wrestling with Bear
  2. After doing similar with the 1st one, I have only done the exhaust mod. Best gains by far (& they sound fantastic )
  3. Do you find a difference in performance ? Never used anything but NGK
  4. I would also avoid Working below the stem. Lifting a knee & bracing yourself against your strop with it can help
  5. Race you
  6. if he chooses to buy husky does he have local dealer support?
  7. I would use a fishermans or similar cinching knot over a bowline or fig 8. Helps keep the krab orientated correctly, reducing the chance of side loading & is just tidier.
  8. Bad news Ian. Sorry to hear
  9. It's 11.7mm Peter. Was looking for bigger, but it is my choice at the moment
  10. It's not CE marked yet so they are not going to stock it (I phoned the other day) Looks like a choice of imori or a 11.7mm line
  11. Not going anywhere at this rate.......
  12. There is a difference Josh. Ian's cut (which i also use ) undercuts the face cut, allowing the piece to go of it's own accord if it can & makes sure the saw does not get pulled. Same principal
  13. I have done a little crane work & I don't think it is a crane signal. I'm glad you are willing to discuss the signals. I am by no means saying I am right, I am just interested in developing such things. Thanks, Pete
  14. We have no formal signals, however there has developed - over time a common series of signals. Stop, for example is one (or two ) arms outstretched palms facing the target person. During roadside work, a climber, after indicating a readiness to do so, will wait until the groundy lowers there hand to cut - the removal of the stop sign indicating go. This is often accompanied by a thumbs up, eye contact & a positive nod of the head. The thumbs-up is universal & seems much more natural than arms outstretched (would be difficult to repeat consistently for me). I think such signals are too easy to over analyse, when what would be more important to emphasize is good positive body language by the signaler.
  15. I think we have all used similar signals at times & they naturally develop within a workplace. The ones illustrated are mostly good & common sense, however; Why are there 2 signals for stop? Stop is stop, no options be it an emergency or not? The OK signal cannot be done with 1 hand. So do you have to put down a saw, or rigging/pulling rope or even stop or go board. Useless when working as a pair.
  16. Those Makitas remind me of the old Jonsereds - boxy with a straight front handle
  17. Has Timbrel not been removed from the approved list now? ALong with garlon 4 & some other glyphosphate based herbicides?
  18. Samson-The Strongest Name in Rope, VORTEX As a Samson stockist, do you have it?
  19. meindl airsteams -9 months then skip. You must not drag brash & walk on hard surfaces if they last 2 years.
  20. What cut did you use?
  21. The saw sounds ported & the man knows how to put timber on the floor:thumbup1:
  22. I prefer special k for breakfast
  23. Why test? There is little enough trust among people as is. I, despite my obvious common sense convictions on the worksite, would & encourage others to refuse. It's an invasion of my life & humanity to even suggest it. Oh & yes I would pass a test
  24. There is no acceptable level of intoxication - irrelevant of substance. Why is there even this discussion? What people do away from work - who knows? But if they turn up under the influence or take drugs on the work site - BYE BYE !!!!
  25. I love the 560 but it's ergonomics are designed for limbing & it feels long & awkward aloft.
