  1. Look like they know trees & how to work them. Old school efficiency (apart from the sloping back-cut)

    Loler

    Puwer - google it
  3. The Oxan is recommended Tim. The "dog bone" is a replacement for the top krab. I will still knot the cordage below it to fine tune it's function, but the primary connection will be to the krab. As for timing, you know as much as I do - a krab at the top was in the origonal set-up but superceeded enthusiastically by this one
  4. It's is the first production one - got it intime for the APF
  5. The Krab does take some of the heat - hence it's steel. Bend radius is small as the friction is spread over the dog bone at the top, the body & a little on the krab
  6. Great tool. Just tie in before you climb off them
  7. I have just received a nice new package from Ropetek in the states I love the fact that it tends the hitch & is a small compact unit. I will report back as I get proficient with it. The pics are not how it will be set up to use - the cord needs to be attached to the krab (sorry about my poor pics)
  8. Doing a 2 day job, working on a woodland boundary. Chatted with the home owner at intervals throughout the day, he made us a drink etc as was delighted to have the overhang reduced & damaged trees removed. Turned up on the second day & was met by a distraught neighbor, who, explained that he had passed away over night. Made for a solemn morning of work
  9. Cool. Fancy a little experiment ? How about crossing the m25 a few times blind-folded. You don't need to see as it will be gods will if you survive
  10. Yes. Just try & be sensible about what to climb & what you expect to achieve
  11. Hope the essex police marksmen are discriminate, as orange complection & big blonde fluffy hair are not exactly uncommon
  12. Looks like some good varied work & some decent sized trees
  13. Easy then?
  14. They seem better when you have run a few litres through them & get them re-tuned.
  15. I'd try & set a line high in the tree. Easier than spiking & learning how to roll the flip line up a large diameter stem, caan be exhausting
  16. Love licorice
  17. I give up.
  18. NON of those are static - they will all be subjected to dynamic loading during the rigging!!!
  19. I did, well i bailed out of the tree & applied one. I had a lacerated biracial artery in my upper arm (below the bicep muscle). Saved my own life. So, if you can't apply first aid to yourself - appropriately dependent on the situation, then, (unless your mates are close enough to help you),in that scenario, your DEAD. The real world aint nice & if you want to survive you had better sort your head out before you put yourself in harms way.
  20. How much rigging do you do that is static? Examples please
  21. Training should reflect the risk & type of injury. So I believe we should not only use CATs or similar , but equally & prehaps more importantly be trained in there use
  22. Agreed, but how many have the ability to pre-tension lines during rigging? I'd not recommend it for most broader rigging applications
  23. nice Josh. Weather looks like your in Yorkshire
