  1. I think we have all used similar signals at times & they naturally develop within a workplace. The ones illustrated are mostly good & common sense, however; Why are there 2 signals for stop? Stop is stop, no options be it an emergency or not? The OK signal cannot be done with 1 hand. So do you have to put down a saw, or rigging/pulling rope or even stop or go board. Useless when working as a pair.
  2. Those Makitas remind me of the old Jonsereds - boxy with a straight front handle
  3. Has Timbrel not been removed from the approved list now? ALong with garlon 4 & some other glyphosphate based herbicides?
  4. Samson-The Strongest Name in Rope, VORTEX As a Samson stockist, do you have it?
  5. meindl airsteams -9 months then skip. You must not drag brash & walk on hard surfaces if they last 2 years.
  6. What cut did you use?
  7. The saw sounds ported & the man knows how to put timber on the floor:thumbup1:
  8. I prefer special k for breakfast
  9. Why test? There is little enough trust among people as is. I, despite my obvious common sense convictions on the worksite, would & encourage others to refuse. It's an invasion of my life & humanity to even suggest it. Oh & yes I would pass a test
  10. There is no acceptable level of intoxication - irrelevant of substance. Why is there even this discussion? What people do away from work - who knows? But if they turn up under the influence or take drugs on the work site - BYE BYE !!!!
  11. I love the 560 but it's ergonomics are designed for limbing & it feels long & awkward aloft.
  12. Nice job on some big nasty trees
  13. moose - they were not driving either
  14. You have confirmed that there is no legal reason not to fell the tree?(in writing is always good) If so what are you waiting for?
  15. Should years of life & experience not teach basic manners? Not a hard lesson to learn
  16. It's not about the subject of the thread, more how is in conducted. Criticism, no matter how harsh, can be constructive.
  17. Cool, another thread about people who have not had time to learn the industry. Are you going to belittle & critique them in a new unusual manner?
  18. Well done Dave
  19. People need to be more realistic about what they expect to earn. We are skilled - yes, but there is only so much money in treework. The tree can stay in the garden for another year, but a boiler or roof need fixing asap
  20. Your rates are too high at the top end for someone with only a couple of years experience don't you think? This is tree work not working for a law firm
  21. Education as you said David. It has to be community & school lead, as there parents probably have the same omissions in theres
  22. Fantastic - efficiently violent, fit & toughened up chav scum. Just what we need - NOT
  23. I thought the Tunissien brand was a cheaper spin-off of the Schliesing? The TS in the model standing for the old Tunissien- Schliesing brand I presume
  24. How many people would approach a load of chav scum with pitbulls? (& the police would recieve a non priority call) It's how things are & they are not going to improve any time
