  2. Hope his body & head recover ASAP !
  3. 044. All round power reliability and usability. The 440 is a shadow of it
  4. Same as
  5. Thoughts are with him. Saw bites HURT
  6. Is there a rapell point on the actsafe drew?
  7. I have only experience of the wraptor so no comparison. Did several 1000ft in a week & it does put a smile on your face for sure. Simple & easy to operate. Very functional
  8. It does seem differ from the wraptor in it's load carrying. The wraptor has limited the load that can be lifted prior to rope slippage at a lower level than this (I don't know the exact figure). This was down to safety if the climber got any kit snagged on a branch on the ascent. I guess the actsafe was not designed for tree usage primarily, but a broader spectrum of scenarios & working tasks Did they sponser you for that amazing volcano descent Drew?
  9. £6500 that's silly money. ! !!
  10. The actsafe are seriously expensive yes?( compared to the 2500 $ us for the wraptor) I have tried a wraptor & it's an impressive & desirable bit of kit for working tall trees
  11. Bought a husky 2100 & 254 in the same week. The former 2nd hand & turned out to be junk. 254 was a great saw & still got a running one in the shed- not for everyday use though
  12. Do stihl sell a dual port for it?
  13. Nice work Nigel
  14. Would it have helped to put a rigging block up both legs? It would have compressed the union
  15. The wraps and braids DO make a difference as they can increase the loading (less of them ) or decrease it (more of them) on the top of the hitch. Length of cord & relative cord length also factors. Diameter of cord, type along with rope selection all change things The performance of the hitch is truly a sum of it's parts
  16. The number of wraps turns etc has everything to do with the behaviour of the hitch. Less will be "more sporty" to use your phrase & less likely to grab without some setting. More will be more dependable but with greater friction
  17. Nice boot but I wore the soles out in 9 months below the balls of my feet. Abrasion from dragging I think
  18. Such finesse !
  19. Do you need irata or tower climbing & rigging tickets for the job?
  20. Who cuts close to there legs & thinks that chainsaw trousers will protect them?
  21. Astra van, Williams harness, 3 strand & a 254
  22. Too bouncy to be practical Mike. If you want a narrow rope have you tried Samson velocity? It's the smallest in the hand of the 11.1mm ropes IMO
  23. Well produced vid
