I live in Nanaimo on Vancouver Island BC and work for Davey tree i would choose BC every time over Alberta, it gets very cold in the winters in Alberta - 20's and high 30's in the summer Vancouver Island has the best climate in Canada we have the mountain's for winter sports and the ocean and rivers for the summer and the best salmon fishing in the world. Vancouver is more expensive than Calgary but the Island is much cheaper and nicer in my opinion we also have big trees in BC where Alberta are more like the size you find in the UK.   11. No mate 6in greenmech thrashed through it in no time!!
  12. The tree was badly rotten at the base and it was also 10 ft across and 10 ft up it was better wood and only 6 ft across and i didnt want to do it off a lanyard as the tree was so decayed i wanted to be able to get the f out of there if it started to collapse
  13. You just fall a small tree rip a board out of the center about 3 in thick then cut in to the tree 5 - 6 inches three lines top middle and bottom 3 in high break the bits out with an axe and put you board in if its loose ad a wedge under it its that easy
  14. No it was in a national park all the timber stays it was pretty rotten only about 4in sapwood where i cut it
