I would be in, thank you for the consideration.

though i a lot of the time i  would probably direct my customers to the site as i dont have enough time to mill my own timber!!!!!
defiantly a great shout.

if nobody has a problem discussing it openly i would be interested what people charge for say cutting large longs 1200mm+ with a double headed chainsaw mill.

its a 2 man job, machinery is generally needed to move slabs etc. the ones we have done in the past have either been really local to my existing jobs and machinery or we have actually tied milling a tree with some landscaping etc.

Very specialised cutting with a double head, with extreme wear on machinery and operators. Also uses a ridiculous amount of fuel.

At least £450 I'd say. I think the only 3 days I ever contracted myself out with the 2 880s and a 7ft bar, I was £400 a day but that was about 5 years ago.

Production rate with a double header actually isn't that far behind a Woodmizer LT40, albeit with much more sawdust.

There are much easier ways to make money though.

A superb idea to have the directory and to know who's available and in the area.
Rather surprisingly to me, a curious opportunity threw its head up, and has taken me out of trees and timber completely, so afraid I can't be in.
Before anyone asks the Lucas mill is sold, to remain in S W Ireland, and I'm keeping my Woodlands mill for my retirement and 'hobby' use.

I suppose I ought to add myself.

Bulk hardwood and softwood supply. Mainly softwood now though.

I run a forestry harvesting outfit, but have good contacts with sawmills around the country and can arrange for timber we've felled to be cut to specification. Wholesale only.
