  2. Thats a lot of decent kit to go missing. Im hoping that you get some leads.
  3. He does seem a bit obsessed, but I guess when all you do is sit in your little council job cubicle he's probably got very little in the way of prospects unless red ed taps him on the shoulder to join his little department of delusional dip hits and drum bangers. Probably barely knows what happens outside his front door, yet obsesses incessantly about about a continent separated by a ocean.
  4. I would be worried that the highest thing for the lightning to find would now be the house. I hope their lightning conductor is up to the task and the ground around it wet when the next storm comes in. Had a colleague that had a strike on their house and it was devastating.Their son in the house survived but was unconscious for minutes as was touching a metal surface; fire brigade got the fire out fast enough, not something that is easy in the countryside.
  5. I think that is Dyers Mazegill, non edible, but used for its dye, hence the name.

I had a short play with wide webbing straps, did not like it, unsure if thin webbing would be any better. I like the idea of a mini ratchet strap, but the small ones would be too bulky. I have some ideas.. File works but unless you unmount the spike from the shank, which is in the way, its a pain. A file only cuts one way and the handle is on the side with no access. I used p240 paper on a flat bit of steel, and a pair of fine diamond files.
  7. Hi All, I'm looking for recommendations for a flail mower to go onto an Antonio Carrera Tigre 3800 (nominally 36Hp from memory). It will mostly be for ride maintenance but I also have largish areas of sedge and light brush to clear as well. I like the look of the Alpha Delta eco 135 but would be very interested to hear others opinions/ recommendations. Cheers Alan

  15. Danny Thompson legendary bass player and a CV like no other - his stories around the time he toured with John Martyn are superb, founder memebr of Pentangle and played on lots of sessions including Nick Drake and many others. From Kate Bush to Pentangle to T-Rex, the late Danny Thompson’s musical brilliance knew no bounds | Music | The Guardian WWW.THEGUARDIAN.COM The bassist, who has died aged 86, was an extraordinary and wildly versatile presence in British music, bringing his personality into everything he played
  16. Perhaps if I were a rank amateur I'd go for that size. It's a retrieval ball for an item I haven't owned in years. Can't bring myself to get rid of it.
  17. I think that horse has already bolted, discussion and debate, great, but this is 99% tedious shit talk by the same members.
  18. Off to machine show in Newark again, big show with lots to see and plenty of folk to talk too! It rained yesterday so I came away early - taking brolly today! Les, thanks for the kind words, irons in the fire etc...... Yesterday, I really meant household jobs!😂🤣😂 Off to watch rugby at Doncaster tomorrow and was looking forward to beers in the stands but bonus daughter fell of her horse yesterday and broke her ankle! Looking to change tickets to seats now! Ova, Run, Doubt!

  20. This is why forwarders got levelling rams tor the kingpost mount. The slewing is by rams working a rack against a smallish diameter ring gear, poor torque but if it's level and the load in free air no problem. My cranab 4510 exerts a fair slewing force for dragging long lengths but fails if it is not level, even with four 4" rams acting on the ring gear. A digger has a motor with a small gear working on a large diameter ring gear doesn't it? Big mechanical advantage.
  21. Its a pearlescent powder mixed with resin the i get a tooth pick and swirls it about.
  22. There is nothing specific about this in legislation, and I am not aware of any case law. The LPA has 2 roles. It has to decide if the trees are important enough to be protected, this can be relevant to trees on and off site. If important they should be retained and protected. BS5837 etc blah blah. What is questionable is whether it should be protecting what amounts to encroachment and possible common law nuisance. It also has to decide whether the CA tree is so important for the amenity of the area that it should be TPOd. The reason is that generally a planning application replaces the need for a separate CA notification or TPO application. So it could TPO the tree and prevent any development that would harm it. This could exceed the RPA, which is really just a temporary made up thing that only preserves about 1/4 of the roots. Remember, CAs don't imply the trees are important. It's jsut a precaution to allow the LPA to decide if they are in the context of any threat to their remvoal or harm.
  23. As GarethM has said, push the lever to the full return position and the lever will remain in that position retract fully and stop, push it part way and when its at the required distance back, let go of the lever and it will stop wherever it is currently. this feature would suit your style of splitting varying lengths
