  2. TBH, both helicoil or Timesert will do an effective job if done correctly. One bit of advice is to use a decent quality tap and usually a taper one otherwise there is a distinct chance that the tap will go in at an angle causing sealing issues. I use Volkel taps as they are decent and not OMG expensive, avoid all these cheap Chinese alternatives as the job is as strong as the quality of the receiving thread.
  3. Incorrect, you describe an offset D which is the opposite of an HMS. Rhino and phantom are both HMS carabiners. Halbmastwurf sicherung translates as Munter hitch belay carabiner. Halb= half, mastwurf = mast hitch, sicherung = belay. From the Shadow HMS Note the last line, its designed to take three clove hitches. The slight asymmetry will not cause any problems.
  4. I apologise, I blew the photo up and what I thought was strong was a thin branch on a loop with the sun shining on it But I couldn't see any crooks !

Very odd! Has that been extended or has the rear most axle fallen off?

  8. So Mick . Who do you get to do that bit then mate ? Genuine question 😃
  9. A decent log burner drys all kit ready for the next day👌🏻 I understand not all are fortunate enough to to be bestowed with such a blessing. I find that when it is wet a wicking base layer is a beauty. This sip jacket has been proper, on my second one. The price has got a little on the expensive side efor my liking but it is fairly hardy and waterproof so worth it.
  10. Last 3 pair the insides of the soles broke up and fell out starting from 3 month, completely failed at 6 month.Haix say abuse.Im 13.5 stone, semie retired.
  11. Another ash, trying not to squash the conni below. It was also good to test the clip on my 2511. It works very nicely for one hand stowing.

  17. Morning all, Should be dry here. Cedar dismantle today. Young lad climbing, Awkward exit from rear garden, timber stays on site. Two dragging, I’m on ropes. Be safe.
  18. That's frustrating! I Have been told green flag is the way to go for cover, the Uber driver that took my wife home said he does loads of RAC and AA jobs and said this sort of stuff is common place.

  20. Nice to see a post like this pop up for a change. Good aftersales support makes a massive difference when machines are earning their keep every day. Quick turnaround, clear communication, and no messing about is exactly what you want when something goes wrong. Stories like this are why some brands keep loyal customers for years.
  21. Swap injectors like when you're diagnosing a dead coil.
  22. An estate I know of tried to weigh a big Fendt and triple axle spreader to check that they weren't being done and failed as their weighbridge was only rated to fifty tonnes 🤭😅
  23. Not sure if I have mentioned this set before. I have only used it a handful of times, it didn't cost more than £25 but it has made some very tricky jobs sooooo much easier. It is basically for removing any bearing that has disintegrated especially ones in blind holes. Although it was cheap, it has been stonking. The latest one was removing a disintegrated wheel bearing from the Mother in Laws walker. You insert the appropriate die inside the outer bearing race, do up the top to expand it tight then use the appropriate puller to pull the offending item out.
  24. A man came home from work one day to find his wife sitting on the front porch with her bags packed. He asked her where she was going. She replied: “I’m going to Las Vegas”. He questioned her as to why. “I just found out that I can make £500 a night doing what I give you for free”. He pondered that then went into the house and packed his bags and returned to the porch. “And just where do you think you’re going?” “I’m going with you!” he replied. “Why?” she asked. “I want to see how you are going to live on £1,000 a year!”
  25. I always start with a job sheet. I list everything pertaining to that particular job from address, grid reference, what three words, equipment etc, id of ambulance rv and Heli LS, nearest A & E hospital, minor injury. Job itself. Saws and equipment etc, you get my drift, I could go on but wont bore you? I have a standard pre printed headings list. For the method statement I extract info from job sheet. For Risk Assessment I extract info from method statement. Lots of repetition all the way through?

  27. Not a 2.7 tonner but should make a nice compact arb machine. https://www.earthmoversmagazine.co.uk/digger-man/view,eurocomach-reaching-out_5218.htm#:~:text=Competing in the 1.5 to,peeled over the coming weeks.
  28. For locking while you're on the road, you should look for a coupler latch lock. It’s basically a small padlock with a long pin that goes through the handle on the hitch. This keeps the latch from popping open while you're driving and makes it harder for someone to unhitch the chipper if you stop at a shop. You can also get a locking hitch pin to make sure no one takes the whole ball mount off your vehicle.
