  3. Old gear oil is the best. I really love the smell it leaves in my van, garage, clothes, washing machine.
  4. Might be arrested for running modern oil at 32-1 though, if they can see him through the smokescreen.

  6. Husqvarna 372xp Chainsaw with 20” bar and chain - Logs and Saws LOGSANDSAWS.CO.UK the husqvarna 372xp is a great professional saw for all Round use, from the forest to land owners. Comes with a 20”bar and chain as... What Stubby said or the link above. Suprisingly light for a 70cc, old school imported. Had countless gallons through mine in 4-5 foot Sitka and doesn’t miss a beat. Probably wouldn’t cut as fast as a fresh 562 as there’s probably 20 odd years between the two. 562 is a great saw to use probably the best I’ve had so far but they are defos not the strongest unfortunately. 372 20 inch light bar and it will be perfect. 353 on there is a really nice saw, I hammer mine in brashing big pappy Spruce with a 15 inch bar on and it is torquey. Like a feather too.
  7. Sunday was a lovely sunny day. Me and a few friends went to a pub which is a known spot for people to spend the day in the lovely garden by the River Trent. I said to my mate, why the hell is it so quiet?! This place is always buzzing when it's a lovely sunny day. He replied, people haven't got any money. Everything is so expensive now. I was paying £10 for a double gin and tonic, city centre is probably closer to £13/14! Even going for a coffee and spot of breakfast for two these days is over £30. Then I thought wtf! It probably explains why my work is so quiet. Maybe people are now really holding off and trying to do the work themselves or just holding back until it's absolutely essential for hedge trimming/tree work. Is anyone else in a similar position?
  8. Sorry, I meant Khriss. -x- Bassethound
  9. I wish more potential customers would ask to see copies of insurance certificates. I always attach mine to to the email I send the quote with. I live in hope it would root out some of the gypo/cowboy types. But then again, there are those punters who just want cheap cheap cheap, regardless of risk/liability.
  10. Yep, if they won't pay what it is worth then away it goes by whatever means is most expedient for the current owner of the "waste".
  11. Just curious, I guess the OPs customer is domestic / gardener / not a full time saw user and can afford to have the saws in the workshop while they argue about half the bill total. Might be wrong but if you depend on the saws to make a living then you'd pay up fairly straight away to get the saws back and profitable again?
  12. The local turners and carver groups used to craze us for yew, you’d fanny about sorting and stacking nice pieces to one side, only for them to come over and pick holes in it and to generally dismiss it as not worth much at all. The last straw was when a couple of members from the carver and turner groups met me up the woodyard to discuss terms, and out of the corner of my eye I noticed them winking at each other during my negotiations . Not falling for that old chestnut too many times it’s now all through the chipper or firewooded.
  13. You just couldn't wait to get that dildo out could you, well in future sit on it til everyone's finished!
  14. Maybe you need a nice thick layer of mulch.
  15. I’ve no idea what your all on about! wockcombles
  16. Sorry all - I should have sat on it until tonight/tomorrow. I clearly misjudged what a serious business this thread is - I promise to be a better human in the future…
  17. Lost the plot mate … I need to go on stress leave
  18. Most woodturners would expect you to pay them to take it away!!!
  19. You may struggle to get genuine fuel/oil caps for the 40, the early saw had smaller caps than the later machine and are definitely no longer available , the bigger caps may also be unavailable.
  20. Glad he worked it out, I knew it would fit.
  21. You have to give us a photo of it fitted now...
  22. This was this mornings first job only a couple of hours. Another fiddly, challenging yet fun jobs. Here is before And after Skinny skinny Truth is I thoroughly enjoy the challenge.
  23. I still occasionally put food waste out for collection in summer but only for bones, fat or eggshells. In the winter I put them in the wood stove along with any dogshitbags from when out walking dogs.
  24. Still being a funny old year for sure. Red hot, wet, cold, dry, wet. Weather can’t put a run together. I’m lucky being on my own, I wouldn’t fancy having a crew to feed. I/we (as in the other lads I team up with on bigger stuff) have had quite a few chunky £2-£3k jobs cancelled or postponed. I have noticed on social media a proliferation of parasitic companies offering to ‘find you tree surgery visits from just £99’ etc., which hardly helps matters. Still way too many people out there pricing for wages, or less. I lost a gutty but straightforward conny hedge rip out I priced at £700 for two of us. Easy day time wise. 3 builder/gyppo types did it for £500, took them 2 full days. I have no wish to compete with that.
