  1. Think I will go this year. Definitely taking some sort of trolley to cart the c̶r̶a̶p̶ stuff from the trade stands back to the motor. Bob
  2. I don't think anything has changed, its still the same choice of a 4x4/ trailer, Mogs/tractors, overloaded 3.5 tonners or get a proper truck. Bob
  3. I am getting diesel at about 12-15p a litre cheaper than anything advertised at the forecourts around here. Thats a card through the RHA , downside is I cant get petrol on the card and other than motorways there are only about four filling stations locally that will accept them . Bob
  4. It will breeze that , small flat bed will make that a useful wagon with a high payload. I chopped the back of mine about for towing heavy trailers, inc a nato hitch (stump grinder) and an adjustable drop plate.
  5. 220hp Urban tractor units are a bit of a stunned slug, what are you going to pull with it? Got an FL220 for dragging our Arb boat about which is only about twelve tons all up inc the trailer and that I would say is on its limit. Bob
  6. Yes its a taperloc of sorts, they are a ballache because the pulley part needs to push back and there is no where for it to go. You need to release the outer using the retaining bolts as per normal taperloc and very carefully wedge the centre hub open to draw the whole assembly off the shaft. Hope that makes sense, it is a fiddly job and dont go mad wedging the centre hub because it will break in half, literally just needs a screwdriver poked into it so you can tease the whole thing off the shaft.. . Bob
  7. Thought I would spend more than a shilling on a new T27 torx driver, got this little gem. Bob
  8. I am assuming you mean the big pulley on the rotor shaft, its a taperloc. Drop the belts off, remove the allen headed grub screws in the pulley hub and insert them in the releasing holes, nip them up and give the pulley a light tap with a copper mallet. It should release. Dont clump the pulley on the outside edge of the v`s because it will break . Bob.
  9. We have always run 4x4 tippers, they have more than enough uses to justify running one. Bob
  10. Most of the problems nippers have are based around their addiction to mobile phones and social media. They are more worried about how they are perceived on twitterbook and facetube than anything they can achieve, its a race to the bottom. Found an Iphone on a job the other day and the thing was flat, took it home to charge it and I turned it on in the hope someone would phone the number so I could return it, this thing was bombed with social media messages non stop all weekend, eventually tracked down the nipper that owned it. Absolutely no way could that lad ever concentrate on anything he does, its a disease that's wiping out a generation. Bob
  11. Another vote for any 2.8 diesel engined Mitzi Shogun/Delica/import l200 , engines and running gear are bomb proof. Spares are really cheap and available, they are also easy to maintain. Bob
  12. Ask him why he has gone into limp mode, suggest he should bring his mum in to help him if he is struggling. Bob
  13. That`s the PD series test nipple Chris, you will need the pd series coupling. Bob
  14. Depends on the size of the tender and the company, a lot of companies look at a tender as a way meeting all or most their overheads. Other work is then where profit is made. Bob
  15. This is a nice dry site and I had already backed the mulcher through the last bit. Completely different in the winter.
  16. Anything with a bit of ground clearance and 4wd will do, you really need something that will get you right up to where you are working or you will be lugging kit miles on foot. Bob
  17. Member on here from Rye oils, they supply all of our lubricants including barrels of chain oil, worth a call. Bob
  18. The cheaper white you see on supermarket forecourts is the same quality as red, the more expensive brands are blends with additives.I doubt if many could tell the difference through an accelerator pedal. Bob
  19. @difflock I reckon its just because they never monitored the red diesel properly, I don't know anyone that ever does or did. Bob
  20. There isn't much in the way of bespoke engineering or parts on any machine, better to identify and find alternatives to OEM consumables before the eleventh hour if you want to avoid being shafted. Bob
  21. Those diamond encrusted discs are really good if teeth are buffed up little and often, too slow if the teeth have gone untouched for a week. Bob
  22. Tread carefully, can the industrial use be ancillary to the Ag use? Bob
  23. Sound bit of kit Ruben, its saved us a fortune in soils and labour on the rake. Bob
  24. Change of use to what? Bob
  25. I bought a couple of Winton machines to go behind a small New Holland compact tractor., a stone burier and a flail mower. That little tractor has no problem powering these.
