    IRATA

I read the title and immediately thought of Vic and Bob. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iNvR_ICKc5c
  3. I reported this because its got a naughty word and I don't think Billy Connoly is funny. He's a Scottish tory.
  4. Years ago the water board was putting a new main in down our street and at 6.00 pm when our heating was supposed to come on nothing happened. I went outside and looked down the hole and there was our gas pipe, the end doubled back with a Jubilee clip holding it. The digging crew had knocked off at 3.00 pm and gone and left it and it absolutely stunk of gas. I phoned the gas and they were there in 20 minutes with no smoking signs and had to dig half way across the road to where it had also pulled out of the main. I complained to the water board about the shoddy treatment and they brought the bloke who did it and he apologised but then they did it twice more on the way down the street.

    Echo 70cc+

Yeah they've never been any good since they put coils and spark plugs in
  6. Clean the faces up and get it brazed back on if the sprocket is still good.
  7. I was grass cutting on the schools at about that time and we used to have JLO mowers. The recommended oil was 30 grade at 25:1 I think. The engines were brilliant starting and running loads better than the Flymo that replaced them.
  8. I had MS180 (similar carb setup) that had similar problems and a carb kit plus raise the metering arm cured it. It was checked for air leaks etc and It seemed alright till you touched it against a log then it just died but after the fix it worked like new. Someone on here, billpierce probably, said you can get proper adjustable carb for it which would be a big improvement I think.

    Ms261 flooding

Under the diaphragm it operates a valve. Careful if you undo the screw holding it's spindle down as there is a lively spring underneath it. Make sure you get the diaphragm back the right way up.
  10. I've found on a few saws that you need to rich up the L screw when swapping to Aspen to get them to tick over reliably.
  11. Result !
  12. Can I have the 440 plate to update my 044? ?
  13. Good result, easy fix. Nice to hear it.
  14. I sometimes wonder what we did before they made it a law, did people just float off whenever they fancied?
  15. Gravity mate, it's never left anyone up there yet.

Are you storing it on it's side ? Can't help you as it sounds impossible the way a saw works but you could drain it at end of work.
  17. I bought a no name piston from mowers and co on ebay a couple of years ago, 12mm gudgeon pin for my 044 just to see if it would go again and it's been running fine for 2 years now. I'd have gone for a Hyway probably if I hadn't thought I would be doing the saw again with a piston and cylinder kit but it's pleasantly surprised me.
  18. Glorious sunshine here and about 15°c on the back yard.
  19. Honey Bros shows it on their site.

    Rare rim sprocket

Part number was 0000 642 1241 but it's discontinued by Stihl. Best of luck with your search. Nobody even the Americans can't find them.
  21. Apparently wood burners are now responsible for dementia on top of everything else.

    Stihl 462

I've looked at videos and pictures of them and although I get by with my little 135 I would really like one of these
  23. You need a drop plate fitted upside down so it's a lift plate.
  24. My friend who cuts firewood down at the farm does the sawing thing with his saw, usually when his chain is starting to get blunt. He seems to think it helps it cut faster but he always ends up cursing and changing the chain.
