  1. That looks keen Skyhuck. Were you in O Brother Where Art Thou with George Clooney ?
  2. Mallard with ducklings still on the local fishing pond and Canada geese with gosling.
  3. By keeping them behind the saw mostly.
  4. Tell him to get a nice Rowan or something, our Silver Birch is dropping seed all over the place at the moment and is a right pain.
  5. There's nowhere to store hot water in the pressurised systems, a friend of mine looked into it and all the plumbers/heating engineers he tried told him to just use a fire to heat his room and leave the door open to circulate the heat.
  6. From a similar request on Arboristsite it seems the only way is to contact Stihl and ask. The 1 at the beginning shows it to be German made, 2 is American but other then that there is no more info in the serial number. Mr. Hobby, We are in receipt of and thank you for your e-mail. Besides the first digit, which is the plant identifier number, all other numbers are just random sequences. There is no way to tell the date of manufacture of the unit except by registration and production records. If you will provide me with the serial number, I will research it and tell you when the chainsaw was manufactured. Anyone can contact us for this information, and that would be the only way to find it. Thank you again for your e-mail. Best regards, Wayne Lemmond Technical Advisor Stihl Inc.
  7. Do you cut it at the back and create more overhang or in front of the axle and extend the prop and brake pipes etc. ?
  8. Earlier this year I spotted some on freecycle and rang up but no~one was in so I left a message. A woman rang back and said she was very sorry she'd missed my message and given the wood to someone else. I just said it was up to her who she gave them to and no need to apologise. A few months later I got a phone call saying she'd had another tree cut down and did I want the wood, which was very nice of her and I took the saw and trailer and got a good load, cleaned her yard up and was very happy. The tree had been cut down with an axe by her brother, it was a Birch over a foot thick so I told her if she had any more to ring and save him some work in future. Weekend warrior here.
  9. That's what I thought, if you leave them long enough they fall off anyway there are pine cones all over the road not far from here and they make good firelighters.
  10. When I had my 7 style 2 seater I was on a local dual carriageway which is in a 30 limit and a Fastrac overtook me, my eye was level with his wheelnuts and I couldn't stop laughing for ages. We followed a couple of tractors on the way back from the seaside and I was pulling the trailer tent so no rush but they pulled over after a couple of miles to let the tailback go which I thought was quite good of them. If they all did that it would help relations quite a lot.
  11. I have an older Triton with a set of spare log jaws for holding uneven shapes more securely.
  12. Brushing your teeth is a bit if a challenge as well, get well soon and remember how it happened so you don't do it again.

Just going by what mine was doing, I had to take it in nearly half a turn to get it to tick over at all after it had been running for a while. When I turned it out it bogged before it picked up which was really annoying and it took ages to warm up. It was running spot on when I last used it a couple of weeks ago.

Pull the choke lever up and push it back down again to set fast idle to restart when it's warmed up. I have a 135 which is like a cheap 435 and I had to rest the mixture after running for a while. You need a splined screwdriver to turn the L screw in a bit and an ordinary one for the tick over screw to speed it up.
  15. I'll do it for the wood
  16. Lee Oskar every time (Tombo)
  17. Flail mower might do the job for you.
  18. We did it a couple of weeks ago, I cheated and waited till the Buddleia flowered so I got a good count.
  19. Chainsawbars has it in here.
  20. I put dwarf porn in on my other computer and now there's a big box coming up saying I've been a bad lad and have to pay $100 to unlock my computer, is this your evil plan IanW, curse you I'd pay up but I'm a bit short at the moment
  21. When I win the lottery that's what I'm going to do, send the lawn away to be cut Did it still have the "green side up" stickers on the pallet.
  22. We've got a Yamaha Pacifica, it doesn't cut as well as the Husqvarna
  23. Does it count as a radically altered vehicle and need IVA testing under the DVLA guidelines ?
  24. Put some teak oil on it, it looked much better in a natural finish although the work is very good and the piece is a good representation of my idea of a green man.
  25. Enjoyed that, informative and entertaining video.
