  1. Chooch, Benny, Brains you take the alley. Fancy, Spook you come with me. Benny the Ball was voiced by Private Doberman from the Phil Silvers show another of my old time favourites. He had to be painted blue or he'd just be a cartoon cat.
  2. It's coming round again September 27th and 28th 10.00 till 17.00 both days, looking forward to it again.
  3. Beer and chainsaws, I'll watch from a distance
  4. Only pallets I've seen that are treated are Chep and they just get a coat of blue paint. All the other pallets are made of the cheapest wood possible as they are disposable items.

    Big stick!

Drop it so the top lands onto a pile of logs, the bottom is in a plinth isn't it ? That way the middle won't touch the block paving.
  6. I bet you've got the girly voice on Siri though
  7. We'll light it for an hour on Christmas day whether it needs it or not. I'm getting a bit soft in my old age.
  8. Don't want them furriners dilutin' the gene pool, gimme six man. NFN.
  9. It's probably an additive separating out, like Lithium in grease.

    New Saw

You mean you use them, they'll not last, it'll be the death of them. You don't mention sharpening in that list
  11. There's no such thing as a free lunch, haven't you heard ?
  12. Did they plant the tree that close to the building or build the house that close to the tree ? That would annoy me no end, I'd cut it down and put a fence up or buy curtains for privacy
  13. It's an old term used to be used for the cupboard under the stairs in terraced houses when we were kids.
  14. Years ago some friends I worked with found a friendly landlord with a pub that backed onto the Derwent. They asked him if they could clear some of the bank and use it for fishing and he said knock yourselves out lads. They were in like Flynn with saws and strimmers but one of the smallish Alders they wee cutting fell in and they just thought sod it and let it go. Within an hour they had someone from the Water Authority there checking on what they were doing and although they were allowed to carry on they received a stiff telling off for the stray debris.
  15. Put a box in for the saws and throw the kit bags on top of the box, security and cover.
  16. It's a straight pein sledge hammer, you can still buy them from Cromwell tools so it might not be that old just been well neglected. I bet it weighs nearer 7lbs and sledge hammers are usually used for knocking stuff in or breaking things
  17. Look at the branches that are producing fruit and learn to identify them then when you come to thin the tree leave as many of them as you can or just shorten them not remove completely. Only take out branches that are rubbing or look sickly and try to keep the tree centre open, depending how big the trees are don't prune all the branches out at one go but spread any drastic work over three or four seasons as they don't like to be hit too hard. Read this for an idea what you are looking to achieve.
  18. He's not got proper if he can still work, nobody is that tough.
  19. I used to help a mate at weekends and an older woman, tweed skirt and trilby country type came for an estimate on a job. She was standing in the kitchen and his Golden Retriever came in and pushed his nose up her skirt sniffing deeply. She said, "I bet he can smell my pussy" and we all fell out of the room leaving his wife to sort her out as we couldn't stop laughing.
  20. You need to know what variety they are and whether you cut all the fruit bearing branches off and they are just starting to recover.
  21. You will not weld aluminium with a DC tig. I have tig and mig and would not recommend tig to anyone who is not familiar with the process, it takes a lot of learning and coordination and is expensive on gas and consumables with gas cups, tungstens and rods and you need to be inside out of even the slightest draughts. Arc is sounding like favourite for you, inverters that are designed to run from lower amp supplies are no more prone to breaking than any other machines and will burn 3.2mm rods all day. Old buzz boxes that don't have hot start and anti stick are a pain in the arris at times so make life easier for yourself. After over 40 years of it I like the new machines and welcome any innovations that make life easier. Embrace new technology and don't be a Luddite.
  22. Don't flush them they are not soluble Training complete.
  23. Have a look on instructables website, there'll be something on there. Here's one.
  24. Can you reset the saw firmware then start over with the initial setup procedure ?
  25. I think he meant "but like him already" I like watching these videos and the before and after shots are always welcome.
