  1. If the springs were stretched it would cause the opposite effect to what he is having and allow the clutch to throw out too easily. Is the inside of the drum getting oiled or greased allowing it to slip ?
  2. There's an Ash growing in the top of next door's wall which needs killing off. The wall is about 8' high and the tree is about 3' high but they only had the wall rebuilt this year after the high wind pulled it down with a load of Clematis helping it along.
  3. I would think it would be more obviously a hedge then not a line of trees. If it was a fence you would need to apply for planning to erect anything higher than 2 metres round here and it would most likely be refused.
  4. Not if you get pulled DPF systems are a pain in the butt for low mileage short journey motors.
  5. My friend has one in the shop at the bargain knock down price of £14,595. 2009 Harley Soft tail Skull and Crossbones only done about 5,000 miles.... not keen on them myself and that one will make your ears bleed with the noise of those straight throughs
  6. My wife and I have a bottle of red wine at the weekend and 3 nights a week we have a bottle of Hobgoblin each while we watch telly. I buy a bottle of whisky and it lasts a month or two as I am partial to it but I don't think I overdo it any more. I used to go out and have five or six pints but I grew out of it and after bladder cancer and a couple of operations I would have my own path to the bog at the end of the evening.
  7. If that's your old one I'd buy a new one.
  8. I've just had to listen to Arnold Lane because of you.....
  9. He's declined one offer already, probably the tree surgeon's when he offered to take it away and clean up the site for another £200.
  10. If that's his wife I imagine he's a very happy man
  11. No time for sharpening it would mean taking the cig out of his gob. Has it actually got a chain on ?
  12. Well where's the video then ?
  13. Ejector seat ?
  14. I was offered a later one with a chain brake for £80 think it was a 123 but it was too far away for me so I left it.
  15. I did the butterfly survey yesterday in the back garden. I saw a few small whites, a Burnett moth and some meadow browns, a red admiral and a small tortoiseshell in the 15 minute slot. I didn't realise they were so busy, it's only a small garden.
  16. Is it the new Alaskan mill for cutting long trunks ?
  17. Don't get all macho get a 3lb lump hammer. You can pick it up easily and won't knacker your elbows using it and you won't smash your wedges to bits either.
  18. I thought that and if he'd used the bigger shovel inside the fence he could have done it off one ladder, much safer
  19. We get a lot of them when the ivy is in flower, they seem to love it. Definitely a hover fly.
  20. Socks do it in the washing machine as well
  21. What can go wrong ? I can't see the problem the ladder is not over extended and he isn't leaning out.
  22. I have the observer's book of trees and shrubs of the British Isles and another book called a colour guide to familiar trees which has some nice illustrations which look like water colours.
  23. Put a bigger bar on it
  24. I used to work in a boiler factory and there was a Promecam press/folder with infra red guards and you couldn't go within a foot of the operating area without it stopping
  25. They forgot to put Land in the title Dumbest looking vehicle I ever saw was the early Merc G Wagon Like someone put wheels on a garden shed (is that what the G stands for ?)
