Record Power CL2 woodturning lathe spares. | eBay Cole jaws are expensive save yourself a lot of money by mounting a rubber ring to your chuck then bring the live centre up to hold the bowl in place.

  4. Easy way to make a small one for finer sanding is to hacksaw a slot down a piece of 8 or 10 mm bar and fit the sandpaper in the slot then wind it round itself, just make sure its wound the right way or it will slip out. this is particularly useful for sanding bores.

  7. My son has just done a loft conversion so this is going on the bits I can remember as I was not involved too much. Joists need to be 200 mm x 50 mm at 400 mm centres. Velux is ok for fire escape,but has to be fixed no higher than 1 m at lowest point. Fire door has to be fitted at top of staircase. planning was not needed but building inspector has called on regular basis.
  8. Harvey go down to your local timber merchant, most of them have firewood bins,and pick a few different pieces out, they only charge a few quid for a bag full,you will soon get to know what wood you prefer for each project without it costing much.

  10. Think they are nickel plated steel, they are the good ones with a proper thread all the way round not the cheater type that have half the thread cut away.
  11. What size are the nuts you put in for the feet ? I have some threaded inserts 6 mm and 8 mm that screw to wood and could send you some if they are any use.

  14. Not sure about the old ones but newer blanking plates have 2 lugs that locate on the burner and are twisted in in to lock them in place, they also have a groove on the plate in which fire cement is placed to seal it.

    I have a mate who has his own shop, not sure what his work is like, but could call in and see him if you dont get any.
  17. Had a few £10 s and a £70 for 4 numbers. Workmate forgot to tell his wife to put lottery on so went and put them on himself, his wife remembered to put them on too, they had 2 winning tickets worth £1500
  18. Starting to wear specs wont make your eyes worse,Had the same pair for 7 year now, not wearing them when you need them will give you headache, more so when on the pc, you think you can see ok but you cant, I thought a long standing post read " Mr silky saves the day"
