  1. An informed consumer is a good thing and mis or Informed customer is a little tougher to deal with. As long as your knowledgable about your trade get use too the mis or ill informed customers. They are in every business, and some customers need more training than others. Good Hunting! elg
  2. I agree with yeti, also if at all posible avoide the KNIFE, it can and will cut both ways. elg
  3. Dear Michael: Happy Memorial day to you and your family. Thank you for your sons service, and your support. I to have a daughter in the US Navy. God Bless you and your family! easy-lift guy
  4. I guess a stationary target really does not stand much of a chance, I think that's what a sniper would have for a snack. Have a nice day. elg
  5. Pack in ice at the end of your work day for 1 hour, ibuprofen 150 mg every 8 hours physical therapy if it is in the budget? More than any thing else, really take it easy. Thanks to a Drunk driver I nearly bought it 12 years ago and the doc in the Emergency room told me I came as close to dislocation of my left shoulder as I could with out reaching that point. Really painful best I remember. Take Care. elg
  6. From a business stand point I have not heard about Commercial clients paying monthly or quarterly as opposed to domestic clients paying after the job has been completed. For myself here in the states once work has been completed and a bill has been submitted to the client payment is due at that time. I have known of very few companies that offer terms of any kind for services rendered. Speaking for myself weather commercial or domestic work once the work is done, payment is due. "Remember it's your money that the client owes you for services rendered" Good Hunting elg
  7. Really try and trade for fire wood. You could do alot with a trunk like that, hate to see it burned up for the sake of firewood. elg
  8. Really looks nice, bet the building could tell some stories from the past as well! elg
  9. For your budget might I suggest a bike known as a Land Rider. Not allowed to post a link I guess, just google land rider, should come up. I bought one 5 years ago and love it. I will tell you that the auto shift transmission does take some getting to know but it beats having to shift manually. Current price here in the states $300 to $500 depending on make and model, not sure if available in UK market. Good Hunting! elg
  10. Spray with 1 ts of dish washing liquid to Gal of H20. Graham is correct, I believe the plant looks to be a Rhododendron?. This build up will not harm the plant and I have seen it thousands of times. Spray once a week both sides of leafs. Good Hunting elg
  11. In life as with work you will make or break your own destiny. Working for yourself will be like nothing else you will ever know for your working life. I suspect that as long as you continue to enjoy what you are doing to earn a living you will do fine. If in the future you determine that being self employed is no longer your cup of Tea, sit down with your wife and discuss what options you have and what reasons you had in the first place for starting your own business. "No one can pimp your self better then you", and your wife. All the best. easy-lift guy
  12. Dear Theocus please advise how you made out with your alarm system from your post of 19-07-09?. Reason being I am in the process of completing a one man quest in an attempt to create a Plan of Action to help solve and stop this pox upon my fellow members of ArbTalk. All the best

good response oldwoodcutter, we have the same type here in the states, I think I can call them pin heads without offending anyone unless your a pin head.
  14. geoff, here in Florida we have the Castle law which allows the owners of the dwelling to protect them selfs. For instance if I am home alone or with my family and someone or persons enter my house I have the right to protect myself since I am in fear of my life. Shortly after this moment I would be able to unload my H-K into said intruder and allow them to assume room temp. Justice served. The key is that you have to be in fear of your life and the perps must be inside your dwelling. Anything outside is up for the police/courts to decide. If you come inside my place and are looking for trouble you will be assuming room temp. pretty quick. elg
  15. Saved my friends cat 5 years ago during Hurricane season. Storm track was about 36 hours out from landfall in our area so with climbing belt on a little determination made my way up the 80' Norfolk Island Pine. Not a hard climb other than the fact that the cat was playing hide and go seek near the very top. Pretty windy and running out of trunk to hold on to I still had trouble finding said cat and than from behind of course it jumped on my shoulder and told me I am ready to get down now please. After 3 days I would have been made down safe and a sound. Storm decided to plow into the pan handel, double relief. Yes I do speak cat. elg
  16. Incredible, most of them probably lived and died in the same forest they earned their living from. The original Lumberjacks!. elg
  17. Thats great and can I get an autographed log?. Great back ground music as well. elg
  18. Just remember Hurricane season starts in sunny Florida in just 9 days!, forewarned is fore learned, for the most part.
  19. Why not Wee Dee Tree Surgeon LTD. I used my name and believe me coming up with a name is not easy. easy-lift guy.
  20. Have always enjoyed working outdoors in the garden with designing installing and maintaining landscapes and tree trimming and removal. In 1979 After completing a Two year AS degree from my local JC I attended a Two year program at another local Vocational Tech school learning about Landscape design, installation and maintenance . This also included Irrigation design and maintenance as well as Tree trimming, pruning, etc. Novemeber 1993 finally decided to take the plunge and started working much smarter, created and introduced my first brain child the TAS Trimmer, 18 years later and 10 different models now selling world wide, and there was much rejoice! Came across another product 6 years ago and was so impressed with it I bought the company. It is know as the easy-lift harness. Would not change much if I had to go back in time mainly because both products have been good to me. God bless my customers and the industries that I have had the pleasure to work in and serve. easy-lift guy.
  21. I would suggest a pair of swimming goggles. They are form fitting to ones face for the most part and are really not to expensive to try. Good Hunting.
  22. In the past I have had clients do the same thing. If you were here in the states and this happen that's the way it go's. Even when I had contracts with the client and I asked if there was any reason for discontinuing services usually no reason was given. Don't take it personally . It's just business. Move on to your next client. elg
  23. Kinda of reminds me of some of the damage seen here in the states after some of the Hurricanes we have had over the last few years. Much more concentrated for you all and so many old trees lost forever.
  24. I don.t think it so much has to do with not being good with blood. I believe it's called shock. The bodies way of saying hold on a minute. Time out.
  25. I would have done the same thing to him if I had been there to help. Crime is Crime. Just how the punishment is dished out can sure vary alot. My opinion.
