good response oldwoodcutter, we have the same type here in the states, I think I can call them pin heads without offending anyone unless your a pin head.
  2. geoff, here in Florida we have the Castle law which allows the owners of the dwelling to protect them selfs. For instance if I am home alone or with my family and someone or persons enter my house I have the right to protect myself since I am in fear of my life. Shortly after this moment I would be able to unload my H-K into said intruder and allow them to assume room temp. Justice served. The key is that you have to be in fear of your life and the perps must be inside your dwelling. Anything outside is up for the police/courts to decide. If you come inside my place and are looking for trouble you will be assuming room temp. pretty quick. elg
  3. Saved my friends cat 5 years ago during Hurricane season. Storm track was about 36 hours out from landfall in our area so with climbing belt on a little determination made my way up the 80' Norfolk Island Pine. Not a hard climb other than the fact that the cat was playing hide and go seek near the very top. Pretty windy and running out of trunk to hold on to I still had trouble finding said cat and than from behind of course it jumped on my shoulder and told me I am ready to get down now please. After 3 days I would have been made down safe and a sound. Storm decided to plow into the pan handel, double relief. Yes I do speak cat. elg
  4. Incredible, most of them probably lived and died in the same forest they earned their living from. The original Lumberjacks!. elg
  5. Thats great and can I get an autographed log?. Great back ground music as well. elg
  6. Just remember Hurricane season starts in sunny Florida in just 9 days!, forewarned is fore learned, for the most part.
  7. Why not Wee Dee Tree Surgeon LTD. I used my name and believe me coming up with a name is not easy. easy-lift guy.
  8. Have always enjoyed working outdoors in the garden with designing installing and maintaining landscapes and tree trimming and removal. In 1979 After completing a Two year AS degree from my local JC I attended a Two year program at another local Vocational Tech school learning about Landscape design, installation and maintenance . This also included Irrigation design and maintenance as well as Tree trimming, pruning, etc. Novemeber 1993 finally decided to take the plunge and started working much smarter, created and introduced my first brain child the TAS Trimmer, 18 years later and 10 different models now selling world wide, and there was much rejoice! Came across another product 6 years ago and was so impressed with it I bought the company. It is know as the easy-lift harness. Would not change much if I had to go back in time mainly because both products have been good to me. God bless my customers and the industries that I have had the pleasure to work in and serve. easy-lift guy.
  9. I would suggest a pair of swimming goggles. They are form fitting to ones face for the most part and are really not to expensive to try. Good Hunting.
  10. In the past I have had clients do the same thing. If you were here in the states and this happen that's the way it go's. Even when I had contracts with the client and I asked if there was any reason for discontinuing services usually no reason was given. Don't take it personally . It's just business. Move on to your next client. elg
  11. Kinda of reminds me of some of the damage seen here in the states after some of the Hurricanes we have had over the last few years. Much more concentrated for you all and so many old trees lost forever.
  12. I don.t think it so much has to do with not being good with blood. I believe it's called shock. The bodies way of saying hold on a minute. Time out.
  13. I would have done the same thing to him if I had been there to help. Crime is Crime. Just how the punishment is dished out can sure vary alot. My opinion.
  14. With all do respect to AHPP and b101uk this story took place here in Agusta, GA USA. I am confident that the Marines were acting according to their best professional training and in the spirt up keeping the peace and restraining the perp untill the police and ambulance arrived to remove said person. Bit of advise, Don't mess with the US Marines or their toys for tots service every Christmas.
  15. Nice Job, do they have names yet?, must have names so they can be properly introduced to billys chickens!. Have a nice weekend. easy-lift guy.
  16. If you can save your money buy a new model stihl or echo. Buying something used may or may not be a good idea. Best Regards elg
  17. There are many slip and fall accidents here in the states, glad the Marines were able to assist this poor misunderstood person along the way!
  18. Here in the states once you give up the land line expect many such calls. My rule is not to answer Private numbers, caller unknown, or the blank screen call. I can still remember what it was like not to have a mobile phone and my first answering machine, a simpler time to say the least!. elg
  19. If I had to do it again neither brand, main reason my iphone offers a maps app = to anything I have seen on a GPS device and the app was included with my phone! In my opinion Garmin/TomTom will soon be Obsolete.
  20. I have one about 100' tall if I fell it will you come over for it?, o by the way the cones that tree produces could kill some one if you got it on the Head, OUCH!!!! elg
  21. I use Gator blades here in the states, Try and find a Rotary dealer in the UK they may carry the product and it really does a good job. Good Hunting! elg
  22. What a waste, government if given the chance will shoot it's self in the foot everytime!. Does the firewood industry or the arb. industry have any ability to rain these idiots in or is it a EU thing and your all cooked?
  23. Pack in ice, take a anti-inflamatory like ibuprofen , unless you have a reaction to such OTC meds and see your local doctor or Orthpedic doctor. Depending on your age and how long you have been in the buis, it may be arthritis or Carpal tunnel syndrom. You may have also just crunch the area in question or hyper extended, with out more details it's hard to say. Let the dictor be the final say. Take care. elg
  24. Knowledge is power!, Go forth and seek what knowledge is available and have a nice day! elg
  25. Any time the government subsidizes anything the results are usually a disaster with the general public holding the bag. Here in the states we have government funding for Ethanol production. Another complete waste of time, "resources that we could be eating!", and most of all $$$$$$$$. I suspect the same is true for your bio mass plants as well. Private industry is the only source that can make a determination weather or not something can or will work. It's called Profit! Once again the government as well intended as they think their actions are will very often end in financial disaster.
