  1. Not being funny but is that a joke?
  2. A lot of the old fenceposts were larch, and are still standing 30/40 years on, and that's 3" square posts. Maybe try a proper sawmill rather than a fencing yard, or maybe look up Octoposts https://www.daviesimplementsltd.co.uk/product/creosote-posts/
  3. Can you not get hold of some nice larch or creosote posts locally? Would last as long as plastic!
  4. Can't offer much advice, but I (with help from a friend) had to strip and rebuild my oc95. Got the cylinder relined and new piston etc. If you google, you can find the Kubota workshop manual for free download.
  5. Have a look at Muck Truck, or the modified version, the "micro arb truck" You can even get turf tyres for them
  6. scbk

    The big 661

My way of looking at it is have a smaller saw and save putting the wear on the big saw
  7. Ended up finding a few faults with the Kubota engine, including the piston broken and only held together by a stuck ring, and a hairline crack in a governor lever that is inside the casing - glad my mate spotted that!
  8. IMO, just throw it wherever requires the least effort or double handling, it will be grand firewood after spending a year or so in a good shed
  9. Barrow bags are a similar size to wheelie bins, 200l-250l, and as the name suggests can be moved about easily by a sack barrow
  10. Interesting bit of kit, looks like a nice project for a forum member!!? https://www.gumtree.com/p/plant-tractors/vintage-mobile-sawmill-/1263294441
  11. Interesting Is there any disadvantages, like shorter lifespan of valve, extra wear on the rest of the hydraulic system, or lots of heat created in high speed mode?
  12. Has anyone used one of the rapid extend valves, are they any good? Also seen them advertised on ebay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LSR-3060-3-RAPID-EXTEND-LOG-SPLITTER-VALVE-/162259296201?hash=item25c7685fc9:m:mXWlkNXaaeE9zP5AR9smX3A
  13. Exact same thing here, handle has broke (and been replaced by threaded road) a few times. It's only m8, which is a bit thin in my opinion. And the cast alloy part has broke too!!!
  14. Just wondering, where/how did they break? I had a flowfit one break too. As you say don't think they're very well made
  15. There's a Greenmech CS100 on ebay at the minute not a million miles from you, £3200, assuming it's all legit, that would be worth a look
  16. Yes probably about the same, per kg!
  17. The rotatech chains seem ok but one set I ordered took about 3 weeks to come! Customer service seems a bit poor/slow
  18. Bare in mind aswell, the greenmech uses a B&S Vanguard, which is a commercial grade engine, different kettle of fish. Like comparing a professional Stihl/Husqvarna chainsaw with a domestic saw from the same brand.
  19. Hoggs make good quality boots, both safety and non-safety
  20. Should tell folks that you're getting a referral bonus out of it though eh......
  21. Where's that black walnut video lol
  22. Folks always like these adverts, £1200 to collect someone's bonfire pile https://www.gumtree.com/p/outdoor-settings-furniture/bulk-load-of-firewood/1258565753
  23. Yes I bought some stuff in lidl years ago that was "wood flour" based, that was really good but have never seen it since. I wonder if you could make your own using a fine sawdust?
