  1. They're probably a bit like a budget airline - at the lower end of the price bracket, and it's either fine or cr@p
  2. Splitter and saw bench on the go today, just in time for some of these logs, Birch was on it's last legs
  3. They need to join the Fort Augustus Rally Team https://www.alamy.com/stock-photo-fart-in-capitals-fart-the-fart-initials-of-the-fort-augustus-rally-6521380.html
  4. This is a good mod though :
  5. https://www.healthandsafetyatwork.com/threeshires-safety-alert Also taking lumps out of the bark of the tree you're wanting to keep isn't so good
  6. A high lift jack can be useful, you can get cheap ones on ebay for about £30 and they seem ok
  7. Not just that, but it probably won't be anywhere near the wattage advertised
  8. Always worth thinking about how you can make things better Maybe some kind of set up with a roller table would help? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/corner-roller-table/232766766161?hash=item3631fafc51:g:JfUAAOSwf05a9ycm Or if you have a raised area, cut the logs at the top and make a chute for them to come down so they finish up at waist height next to the splitter
  9. There was one I tidied up for someone, a silver birch about 10" diameter? His son had felled it at chest height with an axe Looked like tall beavers had been at it
  10. Ask him if he needs any tree work doing.
  11. They do seem keen on the "branch logger" type machines in eastern europe, so they must be doing something useful with the stuff. Maybe the answer is to bag it all up and send it on a backload to Lithuania from a lorry importing kiln dried firewood to UK

    Forest track

Just wondering, are the big land drain pipes temporary? What's the lifespan of the sand bags?
  13. Do you mean a 25l plastic drum? Fine for diesel, but not sure I'd want to store petrol in it?! 20 quid would buy you a steel jerry can
  14. I thought a man like yourself would be adding the tin cans to your scrap metal pile to be weighed in?!
  15. Seems a shame to be sending sawdust or ash to landfill. Keep it to one side and give to local gardeners/veg growers/allotments. If you're really stuck offer it up on gumtree, then keep a note of people's contact details
  16. Cool, just out of interest did you buy or make the tow bar? When I bought mine they said the only towing attachment they did was fitted instead of the skip - so I had to build my own!
  17. It says in the top r/h corner "final edition"
  18. It's full of cages, cabinets, racks, storage boxes, office equipment etc And still has the reefer unit with a little perkins engine
  19. My new shed, it came from a business that closed it's depot - I'd assumed the box was empty (it was pushed hard up against a fence in the yard). Hiab driver said it felt awfully heavy for it's size? The contents is probably worth as much as what I paid for it!!!
  20. Just saw a pear tree in someone's garden today, I have been going there for years and never much fruit on it. This year it's full of pears but the tree is now on it's side!!
  21. The only thing with cladding a container, putting a tin roof over the top etc is for the amount of work & materials you may aswell have just built a shed? And without insulation, you'll likely get condensation. All going well I have a 25ft refrigerated box getting delivered on a hiab in the next couple days. Plan is to buy a big bucket of green paint and do it with a roller
  22. This is my mates merc bus/camper when he was up in spring, he bought it already converted
  23. Have a look at the Kellfri jack
  24. If you like rock climbing, maybe look at rope access? Hanging off bridges, cliff faces, castles, wind turbines etc. Heard there's a good demand for workers.
